Ha, after almost a decade of absence, heading to the Venue Sat night for a friend's 42nd birthday!
Having spent almost every other weekend in there from 16-30something, its going to be a bit of a shock I think.

I reckon you'll last 1 hour tops then leave. Being in a club where you're twice the age of 80% of the others can't be much fun.

Think i last went when i was 32 and i felt old then.

Sadly, I think you're right. The wife really doesn't want to go and is distraught at the thought of all her good memories of the Venue being tarnished forever. So, honestly can't see us being there very long.

I'm an old git but was taken to a few of Peckham's trendy pubs last year. I honestly never thought Peckham could change the way it has, and quite suddenly at that. Posh Peckham has been around for a while but trendy Peckham where if you don't have a beard, was quite an eye-opener. And it all started with a car park, and I went there shortly after it opened, before the days of queues to get in. And years before that I used to sometimes park the car there!

I went last year having spent most of my youth in there, changed a lot and from memory there were sofa's on the middle floor?....I fell asleep on one by about 1.30am and we were asked to leave !

I refuse to go to a multistorey car park in Peckham unless I'll driving an industrial size lawnmower which can take out hipsters.

I agree - it's wrong on so many levels.

Tram and social in Tooting is a decent night.

Disagree with this. Shite chart songs mixed to a generic house beat followed by a load of people who can't afford Clapham screaming 'Mr Brightside' before closing. Some great places to drink in Tooting but this is not one of them.

    Avoid like the plague.

Poor canters still thinks he's in the fake venue of University of Kent. Nothing beats a bit of "Shite chart song" in that place, and as his spiritual home, it's clear to see he hasn't grown up.

That all said... yeah I like Tram and social

noticed the other day that The Rivoli Ballroom now do club nights. anyone been? not sure if its aimed at youngsters though.

which reminds me of the Victorian Clapham Grand after a gig often turn into a club. been in there and it's not too bad. they even had a disco floor. groovy.

Both markets have good bars, the Graveney and Meadow and the Castle are decent if you start during the day. Trafalgar Arms has loads of birds under the fairy lights.

Then head to Brixton if you want to go out out and stay local.
