South London nightlife

Just thought that we'd have a thread for us *ahem* younger addicks who like to hit the tiles on a friday and saturday night. Just wondering where everyone considers good for a night out south of the river. Peckham's being going on the up and i've heard tooting can be a good night. Just wondering where everyone else hits?

  • Deptford is pretty good now.

Theres a few decent bars (Job Centre, Gin and Beer etc) near the station.
  • mrs lives in tooting, some nice pubs there the wheatsheath being my favourite or the rose and crown, both ample choices of craft aswell as normal draft
  • Not sure I'm classed as young anymore though!

been thinking about going tram and social this weekend, never been, what kind of music they play there? More of an indiehead and my mates are east london hipsters so would be good to represent south london as i've managed to convince them to come south of the river this weekend.
  • obvs brixton is great for a nightout these days, effra and hootenany
  • Goochies at the Falcon, Falconwood.
  • Marlow rooms

  • 100mg viagra
    The Venue
  • The Millers in Bexley Village.

Edit: sorry I didn’t see the the bit where you said good.

    You’ve never complained
  • was always a pub man myself. gigs were always good so New cross can be alright for a bit of live music. Brixton used to have the Jam, the windmills still going strong and the new pop up area aint bad. Lewisham lost the dirty south but the fox and firkin still is still going. Greenwich and Deptford still have a few pubs for music that are lively but most close by midnight.

Peckham seems to be moving to the forefront for a proper late night out.

back open apparently - not sure if it's what it used to be.

hope it comes back fully, doubt it though. was never great but it was alright for a good night out locally with a bit of music thrown in. pissed me off that it was attacked during the riots. course not the only thing that pissed me off during that.

Not places to go if you don't enjoy hipster hotspots where everything has to be 'ironic' in its presentation.

Also, I reckon I've done somewhere in the region of 50 Venue nights out over the years. Legendary place.
  • Model Market Lewisham is decent, waa there on Sunday
  • A lot of decent boozers around Brixton market/station, particularly in the summer.

  • Not London, but Industry in Dartford (niece's go there).
  • The Park Tavern Eltham (pre refurb)
  • Tram and social in Tooting is a decent night.

Tram and social in Tooting is a decent night.

what kind of music they play? (i see it basically a nightclub?)
  • Depends what you're after. If you live in Kent the venue is there to contain you and your cocaine needs. Bar Mantis, Deptford is good if you want a chlled out vibe and a dance. The Fox and Firkin has an amazing beer garden, nice pizza and live music.

The best places have thankfully not been mentioned yet, hopefully they'll remain secret.

I hate pop ups, Lewisham Model Market is vile and I refuse to go to a multistorey car park in Peckham unless I'll driving an industrial size lawnmower which can take out hipsters.
