That’s pretty much where I was with him. Thought he got a lot of unecessary abuse for the bulk of when here and it was obvious from day one there was going to be a certain percentage that would never give him a chance.DA9 said:
He recently said on Talksport that he hoped we would get promoted, not a complete failure, but not a complete success either, an ego the size of cruise liner and very Brent’ish, but I think a decent fella if you had a pint with him. Always backed him initially, until near the very end when the BS and Brentisms got too much for me.cafcfan1990 said:
Still gets a lot of unnecessary abuse from us. He has wished us well as he has done previously and I still believe he cares. He did care while he was with us and tried his best, ultimately that wasn’t good enough. We have moved on on the pitch, I think the fans probably should too.Henry Irving said:
So, so wrong. He did very little that was goodMuttleyCAFC said:He seems to be wishing us well so not sure why we can't do the same. Not for today of course. He did a lot of good things whilst he was here. Yes he was too rigid in his formation when it got found out, but he put a lot of things on the right track.
Failed on the pitch.
Actively supported and backed the regime
Talked nonsense, mainly while promoting himself.
Blamed everyone but himself.
Left in a very unprofessional way.
He’d lost me by the end though, and to be honest he really irks with me now. He was nowhere near as tactically wise as I thought he was when he took our job, and the talking nonsense grew to be far worse than I anticipated.
in hindsight, I probably defended him too much when manager but I always want to give our managers a chance and support.
Its always a measure of a manager of how their team reacts once they leave. It soon become clear that the players were delighted he’d gone.12 -
I think this might be the biggest understatement in any thread title ever.

Is that a mis-spelling or is it for real by saying he would say the word 'were' where?CharltonDave85 said:The man is a idiot and all ways have been. I never wanted him at Charlton from day 1 and was over the moon when he left. His football and tactics where boring to watch and he keeps taking out his back side all the time

Another good win for Oxford, especially as Kashi was sent off in the 36th minute.

Plenty of entertainment if you're an Oxford fan at the moment, lots of wins and lots of sending offs, that's 4 in 4 games, with Kashi sent off twice!JamesSeed said:Another good win for Oxford, especially as Kashi was sent off in the 36th minute.

He is in the past.
I personally find the comments he makes about us...simply just a bit unnecessary a bit irritating and patronising.
Karl, maybe just concentrate on your job. Which is to manage Oxford.
If you and our coaching staff have or had a good old catch up...then maybe just keep that to yourselves.
You have way too much of a gob on you.
Our club is too big for you.
Add Russel Slade, Guy Luzon and about 500 other belgians to that list.
