Things you shouldn't have done in this freezing weather

I shouldn't have put the washing machine on, when the water outlet pipe discharges into a garden drain.
The washing machine water wouldn't discharge, obviously because the outside pipe had frozen.
I knew what it would be immediately, a pity I didn't think about it before.
So I've just had to sort it out in the freezing snow. Doh !
First world problems.

Move house. Admittedly it's saved me from the hell of South Eastern Trains, but icy footpaths aren't the best terrain for loading and unloading sofas, armchairs and dining tables, etc.

It wouldn’t have been so cold if you’d only have paid your energy bill you tightwad

Got on a boat between Tilbury and Gravesend.

The waves were insane and it nearly tipped over. Glass smashing everywhere.

Just head the captain shouting his nuts off as it the ferry was almost on its side!

Said there had been nothing like this for 15 years and a group of old people were not allowed on to begin with

It was foggy too...I made an iceberg joke but no one laughed.

I'd like to know the science behind the relation to cold weather and the harsh giant aggressive waves.
  • I shouldn't really have run 5k in the snow and ice just to spend 15 minutes with someone special. But I'm glad I did.

FFS cycling in this weather is really asking for trouble on the icy roads.

Wouldn't have gone to work Tuesday and then spent just under 3 hours driving home (15-20 mins commute tops).

Have awkwardly positioned sex in the bath last night. The bruising has caused my knees to be stiff in the cold weather like I’m some old man.

boiler has packed in overnight, not a problem for me today as I'm at work. Must have gone last night when I turned the heating to auto.

I bought a brand new car in Jan & last weekend we took it on a road trip to Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta. My wife stuck a case of ginger beer in the boot, 12 cans & I forgot to unpack them when we got to the hotel. Well it was a cold night - the temperatures were in the -30s and of course coming down the next morning & opening the car - it looked like an accident at the Slush Puppy factory.

Every can had frozen solid, ruptured and spurted its icy contents all over the boot area. Only good thing was it was mostly ice as opposed to syrupy drink - but the car now smells pretty gingery - quite a nice smell actually....
