    Middlesex 0/1 Holden duck.

    Guess who got him?

    Podmore
  • OMG !

Surely nothing can go wrong now......

  • FANTASTIC !!!!

If he can repeat that on Saturday.......

He's not even guaranteed a place in the team - they would probably have to drop Haggett for him.
Although he has scored more in this game than a certain batsman has in his last 15 innings so perhaps Haggett shouldn't be the vulnerable one after all.

We should get 10 overs at them tonight.

    Stewart might be knackered though!

    Knackered? He'll be buzzing!

There's no way he's going to let anyone else open the bowling.
He'll be buzzing yes but that doesn't mean he won't be knackered.

I'd definitely open the bowling with him but my expectations of his success again with the ball tonight are conservative.

    He'll "labour" to success.
  • Harris must be injured as he only bowled 4 overs.

Yes I noticed that. Scott bowled for them but didn't in the first innings.
  • Stewart beat an 86 year old record for a Kent batsman batting at 10. Riviera can probably remember tell us who the player was that previously held that record.
  • And a 2nd for Podders !

17-for 2 wickets. Middlesex need 450 runs to win

  • Stewart is becoming a viable successor to Stevens.

He is yet to do it against Surrey for 10 years running.

Stewart has only been with us this season so I know that isn't the case!
  • Close - 22-2. Middlesex need 445 runs to win

My point is he won't replace Stevens until he is the serial bane of Surrey.

    Shouldn't take much.

Knew it was third ball and thought @Stewart doesn't know his cricket... Then re-read "Holden duck"... Me bad!!
  • Great stuff. This Grant Stewart bloke sounds like a find.
  • Staggered

Yes he has promise, but Stewart's achievements this match are ridiculous!

Stevens has got another 10 years left in him, surely?

Probably. And Blake seems to be the one taking on the mantle of annoying Surrey every time.

These players would be world class if they performed like that every week rather than just against Surrey!

  • Didn't even mention Henry ffs, who is ripping everyone a new one...
  • Early wicket for Stewart 27-3.
  • Podders back in the groove ... 36-4
  • 40-for 5 wickets
  • Patel c Bell-Drummond b Stewart 13
  • Stewart ... wicket ... 40-5

Middlesex require another 427 to beat Kent.

Almost as unrealistic, they need another 46 to beat G Stewart.
  • Pair for Malan...
  • The Kent catering staff will be in a panic at the loss all the food and drink sales they were expecting this evening!
