Apparently he has not yet died - reports saying he is clinging to life but it sounds grave0

A quick google and no confirmations. Perhaps the title of the thread should be changed?DamoNorthStand said:Apparently he has not yet died - reports saying he is clinging to life but it sounds grave

So gutted to be out of the country in July when he played at Hyde park.
One of the greatest American entertainers of the past 40 years

Saw him a number of times, back in the day, consistent performer. RIP Tom.0

Saw him when he first came to the UK, he was supporting Nils Lofgren who was rather too busy with bouncing off a trampoline antics whilst playing guitar on stage, and I preferred the Heartbreakers set much more.
It's quite a back catalogue.

I can't believe how moved I feel about Tom's death. I am not usually like this but I must somehow identify with him - I'm similar age and a fan since I was just over 20. I first saw him at The Marquee Club in Wardour Street where he played two nights as a 'Surprise Artist'. I got tickets for the first night and was so wowed by his performance that I got tickets for the second night. I am not sure if I knew anything about him at the time. Strangely, one of the last times I saw him was at The Marquee in Cork, which was a marquee just outside the city. His greatest performance for me was where he played a series of nights at a small venue in Chicago - probably my favourite gig ever. The last time I saw him was at the Royal Albert Hall. I didn't go to the Hyde Park show this year as I hate big venues, particularly outdoor ones. However, I have enough memories to last my lifetime. A great artist, performer - his music will live on. Wildflowers is playing as I type.12
