I did Brentwood last week and was 4 mins slower than usual because of all the ice. Nice run but probably should have been cancelled.

Did Bexley today, Maidstone tomorrow and hopefully Whitstable next week for my 25th location. It's very addictive, will aim to complete the alphabet long term.
    Wow good stuff

Did Greenwich, first Parkrun for two months. My 64th Parkrun and my 62nd fastest 🙈

Getting lapped by the winner before I’d even got to halfway was a first. Stressful week, saw afterwards my heart rate was far too high throughout (97% of run in red zone 5) so really need to do something about.

Hey, feck the fitness project & look after YOU ! Maybe you're trying too hard & need to listen to your body ( says Know Nothing Fanny! )

Maybe make an appt to see your GP after the Bank Holiday.

    You're starting to worry us.

I mean she’s right, all this worrying will only stunt your growth…

Had to stop and walk from 1.8 miles yesterday as really wasn’t well enough to be running, then saw on the telly this morning some bloke from Cumbria that yesterday completed 365 marathons in 365 days, a marathon a day through 2021. He’ll now taper back to his usual 100 miles a week…

Got a new watch (forerunner 245) for Xmas and hoping it gives me a kick up the arse to get back out. Signed up for a half in march (stafford) and Llhm in April. Also considering a late charity place for the London marathon again, still 4 months away so plenty of time if I get back out now.

Totally slept through yesterday but luckily my local was doing the bonus New Year Park Run so I started my year as I finished last, all muddy and with a rubbishy time. Happy New Year 👍🏻

I took 49 seconds off my parkrun best today at Pegwell Bay - because it's only 2.97 miles! Wasn't just my watch either, my GF took ~2 minutes off her PB. It's a scenic seaside run but the times feel hollow.

Went up to Lordship Recreation Ground in Tottenham on New Year's Eve for their parkrun. Not the most exciting of courses but nice people, nice cafe and we beat the rain - a good one to tick off for my 51st of the year. Just about made it up to Charlton yesterday for the first of 2023.

My 200th Parkrun yesterday, feeling a bit rough after  New Years so happy to make it round.
    Great achievement LDL, well done

Will do! I think you’re much faster than me though!
I’m also currently walking around like a 90 yr old so tomorrow’s run will be interesting!

Am working out a route around the quays in Salford for the morning after the match, if we get tickets.

Time to get back out after a long extended break from running since the London Marathon. Looking to do my first ever parkrun in the coming weekend in an aim to improve my 5k PB over 2023

After 18 months of trying with the NHS I have finally gone out and paid to see a specialist - Not cheap at all :hushed:

I have 6-8 damaged ligaments in my ankle/foot. I have an MRI to try to verify just how much damage next week, but have already been given a starting plan to get some rehab work on it started. Basically only been able to do 1-2 activities a week from 5-6 like I used to.

Fingers crossed I'll be back contributing in the near future.

Tried running with ‘non-Covid’ covid on Saturday which proved a mistake. My 65th Parkrun and my slowest by a good 4 minutes, over 10 1/2 mins outside my PB.

Fed up having exercise curtailed by illness.

Hard luck Dazzler - do you know how you did the damage originally? What kind of recovery time do they give/expect?

I did an organised 5k run around Media City during the summer - starting outside the BBC studios, over to the Imperial War Museum and as far as the Coronation Street studio and back again - so it should be fairly straightforward: https://www.runthrough.co.uk/run-media-city-5k-10k-july-2022/

I now run a 5k, slower than my full marathon pace and am absolutely blowing out of my arse by the end lol.

Just did my 3rd run since the end of October. Not as bad as I'd feared given the amount of cheese and red wine consumed in the last 10 days but always amazing how quickly the fitness goes off a cliff after a few weeks. Will aim to get back to my usual pattern of running every other day.

Recovery time to be confirmed following the scan.

I rolled my ankle on a training run in July 2021. Thought nothing of it, tried a few recovery things, but simply couldn't get an NHS referral and it was inconsistently painful so I ended up  giving up and settled for managing my fitness time.

Managed just under 5 Miles last night at 10min pace. Still slower than my marathon pace, but I didn't have to walk anything... which is better than a few days ago.

Another slow plod around this morning, was very wet and windy though, not a very nice day for it and if it had started to rain before I’d got half way there I would happily have turners around bought a bacon sarnie and gone to bed…

EDIT: Official time was 3-minutes quicker than my Strava recorded, must be wrong but I’ll take it, every little helps 👍🏻

Missed it last week (cried off because of rain) but got out in the freezing cold this morning for another disappointing time. Fingers had all but frozen off by the time I’d cycled there….
