  • Couch to 5k has gone a bit wrong. I’m in week 4, and each run involves two three minute runs, and two five minute runs. Sadly my hips don’t seem to be all that happy about it, and I’ve almost ground to a halt.
I reverted to week 1 yesterday, with a view to building up slowly again. Would be nice to get to the 5k bit, but I’m not going to obsess if I can’t make it.
  • Been volunteering most weeks at the Great Field (Dorchester). Just completed solo Cto5k so hope to run a few next year.

That's a shame. I think a policy of "don't do it or overdo it if it hurts" is best with sporting injuries, but I'd also get advice to diagnose / recommended a course of action. No fun if it's causing you pain beyond what you might expect working muscles not used to the stresses.

if you think that this will be a long term problem then it may be worth looking into run/walk rather than just pure running. stuff by Jeff Galloway is particularly well thought of
a lot of people find they are actually quicker overall doing this than just running constantly
  • 29 mins today, not bad as I was late and ran there just as it started... Also a lot of running on grass which was as slippery as hell. I'd probably be better off in trail shoes for parkrun though as I'm yet to land on my arse I can probably manage without.

Trying to hit the new year running, literally, so done am 8k and 6k in last few days. Hopefully can build up some fitness and run some 10ks in a decent time
