Southend looked a decent side thought our centre halves dealt well with Cox and Ranger who will cause other teams problems. Scored two excellent goals and held on for a deserved win. Happy days in a much more positive Valley atmosphere this season.
Amos: 5.5 - Not confident in his ability. Flaps when the balls put in, and poor distribution. Solly: 8 - Solid again, and a beautiful cross for Big Josh. DaSilva: 8.5 - Immense engine on the wee man, and he looks pure class. We'll struggle to make him Perm. Bauer: 7 - Solid. Pearce: 7.5 - Solid and made some very important blocks. Kashi: 6 - Dropped a mark because of a few dodgy passes, and one back to Amos that was dangerous. Holmes: 9 - Love the man. Works his socks off for us, and is an incredible talent for us. Forster-Caskey: 7 - Solid. Clarke: 8 - Really intelligent footballer, and will be in the running for POTY (prob behind Holmes!) Fosu-Henry: 7- Made some good runs and looks very lively.
