You mean like 10 or more years away then. Have taken rumours of sale with a pinch of salt, and still do.
Or ‘rumours’ such as statements from the club?
The problem is, until the sale is legally concluded, prospective buyers can pull out at any time.
And we are becoming a less attractive prospect with each passing week. Promotion looks out of reach now. Robinson has no idea how to turn it round on the pitch. So many posters on CL saying they are done with the club, whether we’re sold or not, posters sniping at each other more than ever, gates decreasing with each passing season, no consensus about protests, everyone looking for scapegoats.
It’s all looking immensely bleak.
I’ll be there on Saturday again, hopefully with my son, no doubt once again fuelled by my ridiculous groundless optimism which has dogged me my whole life.
And now I’ll sit and wait for the lols and the snide comments. Apologies for having tried to see the good in Robinson. Yes, you were right and I was wrong.
you could always flip flop and go and support Millwall again ;-))
I've flipped, but I don't think I could flop. I didn't even intend to flip. It just happened dammit.

If it happens it happens - a lot of the people in the know don't seem to know as much as they think they do.
If the takeover doesn't go through by the summer then the club is completely f***ed.
I’ve liked this because you’re correct but not because I think anyone who claims to be ITK is being disingenuous.
The problem is that only one person is truly in the know and he’s about as predictable as a bouncy ball on a cobbled street.
Everyone’s running around after him trying to second guess where he’s going to land and hoping what they think or should happen, will happen.
Much like throwing a bouncy ball this is very much a game to him.
The thing is I don't think he even cares and doubt he spends much time thinking about Charlton. He's not troubled by the losses or the complete failure of the team.
I imagine he has constructed his finances in such a way that he can write off the losses incurred at Charlton. Everyone is wrong apart from him - Roland doesn't admit failure.
How would a psychiatrist or psychologist explain his actions? Does he mirror the likes of Trump in his inability to show empathy.
If there is no prospect of a sale any time soon then I can’t quite understand why Roland hasn’t officially appointed even a temporary CEO and for that matter Chief Finance Officer. Someone is making the calls and we know it’s not Murray and Roland is not close enough to the problems to do the day to day stuff. I assume someone from Staprix is doing the role but why not make the appointment as acting CEO. Hard to see how a company can function even during a period of sale without someone everyone knows calling the shots.
Doesn’t quite fit with me in the sale is a long way off scenario.
Hold on Hold on---- this take over was never ever going to be done in a flash was it ? its Charlton and its RD to start and then theres the "agreed price" ---well thats not A PRICE its PRICES: -- All assets of CAFC and debts subject to us being in League ONE. -- All assets of CAFC and debts subject to us being in the Championship. -- The above two subject to leasehold or freehold of the Ground and Sparrows Lane and therefore price difference etc
So if Karl continues to perform and we are in League one then the sale will go through quicker than if we get in the play offs etc. If its League One then it will only be done when its mathematical that we cant get in the play offs.
All of the above has to be worked into a framework contract by lawyers and agreed by all parties --- thats formers directors as well.

We are talking about RD here... He's changing the face of football ownership and is proving clubs can be run just like an Avon round, with limited input 3 night per week

Either way its weeks or months away.
I dont have ANY insider knowledge.
Our best chance of a sale is to not making the playoffs, all the time there is a chance of us going up, Roland holds out for his £50mn. Maybe as supporters, in the long run that is for the best, short term pain and get the right owners. If we continue to falter then negotiations favour the buyers as Roland looking at more debts and players out of contract and Manager having very little pulling power in attracting decent players while current regime reigns. I believe there is at least one if not now two buyers that are happy to wait, both having long term plans for the Club,so why pay over the odds, they have nothing to lose in waiting unlike Roland with £1mn a month losses and possibility of relegation in 2018/19 with a weaker squad. The unknown is how much money and pain Roland is prepared to put up with, people voting with their feet and not attending in droves certainly won't help him.

It does NOT have to be agreed with the former directors - that only comes into play if there are leases or if the buyer wants clean title.

That is correct but who in their right mind would buy the Club without clean title, only an idiot like Roland who never checked the details as he did his own DD with a young Lawyer/CEO. He wants his £50mn we hear, but there is £7mn extra of Secured Debt that buyers have to clear to get that title. Even the smartest/richest buyer will want to put in Loans and not tie up his investment in Equity, so someone has to clear that debt and so far I guess no agreement has been made.
Agree with GH, obviously there are two prices involved, and as long as there is the slimmest hope of us going up, then RD will hold up the sale in the hopes of screwing even more cash out of the deal in the hopes of compensating himself for his magnificent stewardship of the club.
Also agree with Davidsmith that the best way to increase the chance of a deal is for us to lose matches rather than win them (so maybe Karl is the right man for the job at the moment, then). Even if we did get into the playoffs, we would have zero chance of succeeding given the other teams that we would have to compete with due to our circumstances. The sooner we are sure that we have no chance of promotion, then the sooner RD will be forced to confront the reality that he is asking too much for a club that he has devalued considerably with his own incompetence. Unfortunately, this too may be a false dawn if he still maintains that a club that he has destroyed is worth around three times what it actually is. If you bought a new car for ten grand and then drove it into a wall, would you really be able to find someone willing to pay 3 times that for the crumpled wreck that it now is?
Knowing how deluded he is, I fear that, in the end, any potential owners will grow tired of dealing with someone who appears to off their nut and who refuses to engage reality.
My optimism of a few weeks back appears to be evaporating....
So Robinson confirmed what I said last week. The players have basically stopped playing, because they are concerned about their futures.
“There’s been too many things hanging over the club for too long a time. So when something very small goes against you it sparks a negative mentality. You’ve got players in there whose contracts are up in the summer not knowing what’s going on, who’s going to be in charge. These are answers that I can’t give to players or their agents with six weeks to go in the season.
“This is a reality check. If I’ve got to get in trouble for saying it I don’t really care. It’s the truth.
“I’d love to build something properly but how can you build something when you don’t know what corner you’re turning. We’ve created quite a good mentality around the place but we need something to take us onto the next level now. Everybody is just waiting. How long can you keep waiting? People’s careers are going down the pan. It’s as simple as that.”
This is truly chilling. Obviously a lot saying this is a deflection from a shit performance may not be wrong. But that statement speaks to just how bad things have gotten inside the club.
I expect this has been said before, but using the excuse of the takeover to deflect from the poor performances is ridiculous.
Where as I am completely understanding that when issues above you such as this can effect your performance in any work place, any manager worth his salt should be able to get his players to perform at a competitive level.
Now it's not that we are losing games that is the issue, because you can dominate games and still lose it in the final minute, it's that we are getting outplayed week in week out. With the talented players we have, I am convinced that we should be far more competitive in games - the only reason I believe we are not is because of the coaching and tactics.

It has to be - We're in L1 ffs. We shouldn't be getting outplayed like this and we're becoming a joke.
Most teams in this division don't have great squads. Getting outplayed must mean something is seriously wrong.
These are all important questions, but they should not be allowed to obscure what is potentially a big step forward for the Addicks and will hopefully leave them looking up the Championship table again instead of down it.
As supporters we should fully expect to have our differences with the new owner in time. But he would have to work very hard do a worse job communicating with supporters or providing leadership and support within the business than those he replaces.
So for now Voice of The Valley extends a warm welcome to Roland Duchatelet, and as far as we are concerned he starts with a clean sheet

Makes me sick, like "Nipper" showering in David Beckhams gel.
Chaos and uncertainty. Careers being ruined. Jobs on the line. Misery surrounds Charlton on a scale never witnessed before. Losing to a team that has not won at home since the season before last (Autumn), seems to have clarified one point. The full extent of the damage caused by the egoism, greed, deception and blind stupidity of the FA, and all the "fit and proper" tax dodgers, money launderers, human rights abusers, pornographers and oligarchs they openly support.
Well, someone needed to say it.
Good bye and farewell British football. I wind down my window and spit on your grave.
Don’t panic. The information must have come from Murray, so probably means nothing. It might have just been an aside which Karl has latched on to (successfully) deflect attention away from a poor performance.
Ok I’m clutching at straws here.
Anyway, the good news is there are plenty of July and August dates available in the prediction thread.
Statement from Murray required now.
He’ll only say what he thinks the fans want to hear. He’s just another cog in the bullshit brigade.
This this this
Nothing he says holds weight or value it’s exactly what West ham done the other week
Pacify and make people feel like they are achieving something by getting information from them
Fooling some of the people some of the time but In the end you can’t fool all of the people all of the time
How exactly is it in Murray's interest to have put himself in a position where the manager is publicly undermining him though? And let's face it the overwhelming likelihood is that Robinson is simply regurgitating a version of what Murray is telling him.
The key dynamic is the one that repeatedly left Meire publicly supporting managers just before they were sacked. The old bastard in Belgium is mad as a box of frogs and no one can keep up with him - including the club's own lawyers. It's like Trump's West Wing.
It’s not in Murray’s interest at all to do that but the man is a bullshitter and his chickens have come home to roost , he has spouting the same shit to everyone including the hapless and hopeless Robinson and every one has seen through it and rebelling against it
Personally I think there's a chance it will happen soon now - it looks like any faint chances of going up are disappearing. The Robinson 'rant' is either, just that, a rant from a guy who knows results aren't doing his career any favours and / or somebody has told him it's a way off as a negotiating stance, to try and force an agreement out of one of the 2 bidders. It's always darkest, just before the dawn. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it happens in the next few days. There again, wouldn't surprise me if it happens in the summer. Do not think it will go on longer than that - his plan, after relegation/the end of the experiment, was always to give it 2 years to get back up, then get out. That is what will happen.

All protests are left wing conspiracies to get Powell in and their old jobs back.
M. Duchatelet has made mistakes but he has learnt from them.
Stop going on about past mistakes and get behind the team.
M. Duchatelet saved the club and there are no other buyers out there. All lies to sell fanzines.
We have a good CEO who gets abuse because she is a woman.
Robinson has passion and who else would do a better job?
Let's see where we are after the next transfer window.
