There was a "done deal" on February 8th, at least in the eyes of 1) the interested party (almost certainly the Aussies) and 2) someone close to the legal process. Soon after that I was told TWO parties had agreed a price by a completely different source.
I doubt there is a “race” to do the paperwork. I think the Aussies have done it and were ready to go, but RD wants to sell to the other party if he can. If they fall at the last he will go back to the Aussies.
What do you think we would prefer Airman?
I don’t see how we can know.
Do we know why Roland might prefer one bidder over another if they are offering the same?
Maybe Roland prefers RedHenry's lot if they have deeper pockets to reach the Premier League where it could be Roland receives a payment in the same way of the former directors.
Would explain a possible preferred bidder theory with the Aussies to fall back on.
Just speculating in hope based on Airman and Athletico Charlton's comments.
Good point - I'm moving my allegiance to the other lot.

Nothing is a “done deal” until documents are signed and money is in the bank so rumours from those in the club are hardly a “done deal”
That’s probably why he said ‘at least in the eyes of the 1) the interested party’ etc etc

That’s true and I accept the distinction, but they weren’t rumours and the sources weren’t in the club.
Strange they both have "Henry" in their usernames, anyone seen them in the same room together, could they be the two parties RM refers too? @Redhenry@Henry Irving but are really one and the same?

So @Airman Brown , who are the other bidders? What could be the reason RD prefers them to the Aussies?
Perhaps.... RD’s cousin? A Belgian mate? - selling to them would make RD happy and would mean more of the same for us.
A few semi rich blokes fronted by Elliot who won’t have enough cash to run us for a year? RD happy as we’ll go under.
Or the mega rich lot @Redhenry has suggested? RD gets the price he wants
We joke about it, but if there are any payments in installments, there is a logic to Roland wanting the one with the deepest pockets. That doesn't mean they will be the best from our perspective - Roland's pockets were quite deep but unfortunately we discovered the man was an idiot in regards to football. But given that we don't know much about either, we would all I'm sure prefer the one with the deepest pockets too!

I've changed my mind!! Sky report that Rd has agreed a price with 2 separate parties. To be fair we still don't know if both have instructed lawyers to draft the SPA. I'm sick of the conjectures (and a lot of these posts) and will just be happy when the sale happens. By the way, I chose "7"....do you mind?

That will be one negative of reaching the Premier League but at least Roland will be finding the right buyer for us if your assumption is correct lol

So, how would he know that?
No idea. Perhaps he doesn’t. That’s why I used those things called question marks.

Honestly....
Perhaps....

He means Ferdinand
No pressure @Airman Brown just curious. And thanks for yours and @redhenry updates.
Apparently...
'Many Charlton supporters are likely to welcome the news...'
Lovely understatement.
