Southall having no money doesn’t mean anything, nor does it mean he won’t make a good chairman. I think we have known all along that he wouldn’t be putting any money in. Jimenez was a different kettle of fish
I'm sorry I must have missed the part where chairmen are the financial backers of the clubs they are in charge of.
HE, TN, is the money man, probably backed by the Sheikh, and the third guy is on the board alongside HE, TN to ensure they have the majority, and therefore the shadowy Sheikh has overall control
I've also read elsewhere that it's done and will be announced early in New Year, with all staff meeting new chairman soon after announcement.
They have all ready met him, been walking around like he owns the gaff for weeks. If "he" owns the the club it will be a "bumpy ride"
He clearly will not, since he doesn't seem to have any more wedge to invest than you or I, let alone £50m, (source: VOTV) but, nevertheless, I agree, it doesn't strike the right note .
But one explanation is that they are sure they have satisfied the EFL, and are expressing their frustration that it hasn't been ratified.
To be clear, the source for Southall having no money is himself, in a court declaration explaining why he couldn’t pay an outstanding debt, earlier this year. I just found it.
That's quite worrying. Shades of our pre-Duchatalet owners.
They got us promoted!! This lot have the advantage of already being in the Championship rather than league one. should get a transfer window to assure safety at least.
There's a difference between having no money and having no money though. It doesn't matter at all if the Chairman isn't loaded, as long as he's not subject to an order made under the provisions of Schedule 4A of the Insolvency Act 1986. I don't think anyone is making - or has made - any allegation of that sort.
And, if he had been, then the EFL would have overturned the deal weeks ago.
I'm personally convinced that this group of people have got all bases covered as far as them being eligible to buy and run a football club under the current rules are concerned. Whether that means they'll be any good at it in practice, I think remains to be seen.

IF, all systems go was said to a fan, then I would assume the Green light was only received today. I would make sure that the world and their Auntie, know about it by 10am tomorrow as we have lost so much momentum since the play off final win. Are the Charlton folk who said chill, still feeling calm ?
Fwiw I think these are friendly people who have already put their reputations on the line by being visible and affable in ways we are not used to. Part of that visibility also means we get partial insights like the accounting document most of us can't decipher and plenty of rumour and gossip via social media channels. It can't be easy and it seems they're managing the process pretty well with the team assembled so far. If we get an announcement tomorrow or early Jan we can all look forward to the next phase as the squad is strengthened for a top half finish (now 12/1 on sky bet). Feeling pretty relaxed myself.

I guess the real answer is that there's nothing else he could say. He know's full well it's the only answer a Charlton fan would want to hear. I certainly can't see any of the following cutting the mustard:
Oh mate, it's all so slow, no wonder the Aussies couldn't last the distance.
The next two days are going to be crucial.
No-one's got any money, we're just blagging it.
The boss has got shares in Man City, we're just hoping no-one notices.
The EFL - facking useless, ain't they?
I can't deal with that Duchatelet bloke any more; complete fruit loop, an' with a punchable face an' all. That ain't a good combination, j-know what I'm sayin'?
Who'd have thought Sainsbury's wanted more land in Charlton after opening up that Gallions store?
So I said to Tahnoon, I said this time next year, Tahnoon, we'll be millionaires.
You know that Sisu lot up at Coventry, it turns out we've got exactly the same business plan.
You know that Owen Oyston, well you wouldn't believe it, there's a guy in our consortium that shared a cell with him at Wealstun. Same crime as well! Would you Adam and Eve it?

Bet we hear nothing tomorrow.
So you think by some being told it's all systems go, it means it should happen tonight or tomorrow?
Well, if it is all systems go, I would imagine it is all systems go. If that was the case, the EFL would surely give us the green light. It has all been going on long enough, I think that until they do that, we have not satisfied them and addressed their concerns so it can't possibly be all systems go. Whilst I desperately wish it to be the case, I think we have to be realistic. Something is clearly not right here. Not saying it won't happen but if EFL has expressed its concerns why is it taking so long to address them? This has to be a valid question.

A ten page feature of why on the court declaration explaining why Matt Southall was unable to pay an outstanding debt, with interviews with the court clerk, as well as the bailiffs can be read in the next issue of VOTV.

Then you have missed the ownership structure of something like 95% of all English league clubs.
There are of course exceptions, and Chelsea would be one of them, although in the first part of Abramovic's reign he was still very hands on.

Yep very 😁 chill, it will all be good. They have plans in motion, I expect to see these very soon.

That’s changing and there is nothing dodgy about someone being the chairman of a club and not putting their funds in.
Let’s remind ourselves that Roland was a rich backer who didn’t have the time to invest in the club. Wouldn’t it have been much better if he had put a chairman in alongside a CEO who could?

We've had a cancer running through the club for years and we’re on the brink of being rid of it, however long that will last.
Nothing is certain but I for one will give this crowd my full backing.
Oh yeah and they’re absolutely minted.

Isn't "all systems go," a quote from Thunderbirds?
