if this is the same Saif Rubie,  as in the Guardian article,  is the type of person we want involved with our club. I repeat that I am not at all happy with who is taking over our club.
Mother Theresa, Tony Hart and Mary Berry are lining up a bid for Newcastle. Sorry to disappoint.
    Get used to it.
    no I won't
Go on then Lancs. What's the particular problem with this lot then, in your humble opinion?

Nimer just uploaded a video of all the fans celebrating one of our goals with the caption ‘the best’
    Footage from Saif Rubie
Both Nimer's posts have been from SR by the looks of it

  • I’m more confident than ever that the deal will be rubber stamped very soon. As for these guys at the game today, seems to me they are mates with Southall and there is nothing to suggest they have anything to do officially with the new regime. Let’s not get our knickers in a twist just yet.

  • Think that may well be Heller far left in the Ushanka

    That is Heller.
Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a Ushanka?
It’s what my Italian golf mate shouts out at me quite often after I tee off
Got that wrong mate, he's saying you wanker!!!!!!!!!
  • I couldn't give a shit really. Almost any new owner must be better that RD......a bloke who decided that he would not supply water bottles in the summer, or on gaining promotion decided the manager wasn't good enough for a long term contract & wouldn't strengthen the team either.

Anyway.......the EFL "fit & proper" test can only stop a convicted person from owning a football club (and only convicted of fraud, embezzlement & bankruptcy as for as I'm aware). There is no reason (apart from dual ownership) to stop the new owners buying us.

I'm not on Twitter so dont "follow" anyone  but was has been said that Saif Rubie posted just seems to me the usual rubbish that all & sundry post on Twitter or instagram.......mainly childish & puerile. Some of you need to lighten up a little.
  • Hmmm.
From what I have read today it could be out of the frying pan into.  the frying pan

Hold your reservations, like us all, for 12 months.

Aussie (+ US backing) attempt to buy the club is over.

Can't say which source supplied the info, but apparently RD was impossible to deal with, and they've had enough.
This post got me over the 4k LOLs mark!

Can I just mention that they might be back in again? (Aiming at 5k)

I'll take 18 December please @JamesSeed and 3 February. Your ever faithful @KiwiValley.  Perhaps think of me as your Sancho Panza.
@james@JamesSeed note that above post From November 5th. I’m still in .

Exactly. There are so many people looking for something to moan about.
  • Same old same old
people already protective of our potential new owners
just like loads were ready to drop to their knees and gobble the old Helmet up when he came in .

personally I just want the rat gone at any cost cos I am anyone but him

Plenty of Charlton fans precious of any criticism whatsoever will turn a blind eye to any old shit,  as happened with the mismanagement of us over the years by Roly .

The slowness of ratification by the EFL says to me they’re not purer than pure but who is .

Smells of the Kevin Cash spiv regime , with all the best soundbites and a little bit of smellyness thrown in .

All this rich club bollox will I’m sure be a long way from the truth .

If Taylor goes , then there’s the biggest clue any one could get about how ambitious this new ownership will be . He is a must keep if we are to have any real ambitions .

Why would anyone (Charlton fan apart ) in their sane mind want to own us .
Its loss making and even if we were to reach the  Prem (unless they did a Blackpool and went up and kept the money straight off)  the costs involved to stay there will eventually eat you up , never mind the huge outlay risk you’ll realistically need to get there .

Im not greedy , just finish above the scum,  in The Championship,  I’ll take with a gentle foray into the Prem ,  so my kids can have Match Attax Charlton card excitement rather than getting grief from me if I see them holding a palace one .
For now,  just get rid of the old scrote and give us all a “helmet free” taste of Charlton again and then we can see/worry about the “strange”new incumbents as time goes by .

as some wise old cardigan wearing curator once said “ it’s gonna be a bumpy ride”

If the prospective owners were dodgy I think that the takeover would have been rejected by now.

Excellent summary, Oohaah. Saved me the trouble of saying it, albeit without your unique use of language.
  • Just want it to go through and let the next chapter begin. Hopefully better than RD.
  • Could separate threads be created for fueds and the ensuing comments? Wading through it on here is a pain in the backside. Or DM each other. Or just hug it out.
