For football finance geeks, this decision of the Lands Tribunal in an appeal by Wigan against the valuation of the DW Stadium for business rates is an interesting read. Unfortunately Wigan lost and face paying business rates of over £1m a year (more than 5% of their turnover) based on the value of the stadium when they were in the Premiership.
Well I’m confident that the relationship won’t be an issue. Amanda Staveley said that it was nothing to do with her guy (Sheik Mansour)
So, proof and source of funds already provided, assurances given regarding any link with Sheikh Mansour, and the individuals concerned have surely passed the fit and proper test based on their business CVs.
The EFL would appear to have had all the information they required by close of play Tuesday. Why the f*cking delay????
I'm hoping it's now just down to how long it has to pass through their internal processes versus the resources they have available at this time of year to get all the other bits and pieces on their plate finalised.
People off etc maybe. Guesswork on my part, but I think we must be close to it now
One would hope they have been ticking things off as they've gone along - interviews (check), proof of funds (check), business plan (check) and so on - with the link with Mansour being the last one.
Just Lord Sugar, Claude and Karen to get past now.

Because they have to verify what they have been told.........that’s pretty obvious I’d say. It would appear that unlike in the past (following several embarrassing fuck up’s), they can’t now be seen to automatically accept the answers given without further in depth and detailed investigation.
Cant argue with that from RD, the most sensible statement he has ever put out. Perhaps the EFL might just get a move on and sanction the takeover before close of business today?

That'll move things along. Not
makes far too much sense!
