Be surprised if it doesn't get sorted but would never discount it all going tits.AGAIN!
Why make a big song and dance 3 weeks ago if it was far from done?
The last thing Charlton fans need is another kick in the bollocks0 -
I doubt it’s that exactly. I suspect it’s finding out exactly where the money is coming from.Valley11 said:Is the delay due to lack of funds then?0 -
Any Charlton fan who thought this would dovetail smoothly hasn't been following the story. Duchatelet told the EFL to buy Cafc and Charlton fans have been saying the EFL is not fit for purpose.
The grains of sand are trickling away for a championship offer contract to be made to Taylor and Championship fit players to be purchased.
You can chill if you want to but having been Charltonized years ago I know when one door closes another Charlton door is waiting to slam in our face.

It’s still within efl time frames, therefore not delayed....yetValley11 said:Is the delay due to lack of funds then?11 -
But he did invest, especially at first. We spent money on players without really selling players on for any significant value.Henry Irving said:killerandflash said:
But he did though. Very badly, but he's covered 5 years of heavy losses.Goonerhater said:impossible question to get a definite answer to.The Rat had the funds but didnt mean he would invest.
I wonder how far they looked into the Chelsea owners source of funding? Mind you when he put "Putins bag man" down it would have made most people tick the box
Throughout the shambles of his ownership, we've always paid the bills which is more than can be said for many other owners
Disagree.
Most owners pay the bills.
Only a few don't and if can't they sell the club's.
Other than Bury at league level.
The last couple of years yes he has only paid the bills, but I'm with Killer on this one. Initiially he invested, just did so terribly.

Looks like Matt Southall is going to be our very own Michael Knighton ( google it kids )1

Not necessarily, I would imagine these funds are complex wherever they are coming from.ForeverAddickted said:

I don’t believe it’s true but there they are.

People on the CAFC facebook making up nonsense. Well I never...17

It all seems a bit weird if the EFL are not dragging their feet. Oh the joys of being an Addick!0

FFS don't they know how to Google?Airman Brown said:
The EFL do not believe they have received what they would need to sign off the deal at this point. It's not been rejected, it just hasn't been accepted. No detail beyond that.cafcdave123 said:
So what is it?Airman Brown said:
It's not workload.ShootersHillGuru said:Purely a guess but I would think a delay might be because of obtaining additional/ supporting evidence from the UAE. If it’s purely workload then that’s outrageous.0 -
My ex company used to do KYC for Gibraltar investor and it was often same day approval. And this was in murky world of online gaming.Red_Pete_in_Dubai said:Banks in the UAE follow the same anti money laundering rules as most of the rest of the world, so it shouldn't be too difficult to obtain a letter from the appropriate UAE bank certifying the source of the funding to be used.
There will, however, be a process involved in getting such a letter issued which will probably take a period of time to complete. Such documents tend to be signed off at a pretty high level in the bank, so it is not going to just happen. Hopefully we are just waiting for this certification to be completed.
So is it EFL holding it up or their bank?0 -
That Facebook group is full of wind up merchants . “I’ve got a mate who heard “ bollocks .6

I had to leave that page recently, I reckon there's probably 10 brain cells between all the members of that group.Callumcafc said:People on the CAFC facebook making up nonsense. Well I never...

As I’m sure you know Pete, (probably better than I), paperwork in the UAE can take forever due to red tape/jobsworth attitudes etc.Red_Pete_in_Dubai said:Banks in the UAE follow the same anti money laundering rules as most of the rest of the world, so it shouldn't be too difficult to obtain a letter from the appropriate UAE bank certifying the source of the funding to be used.

However, as I’m sure you also know, influential people in the UAE - particularly those with links to royalty - are able to bypass an awful lot of the red tape etc with a simple word in the right ear.
If this is a paperwork issue, I can’t see that it would take too long, considering Nimer’s connections.2 -

If the EFL have said the process is still within the expected time frame, why do people think it's weird and looking for an ulterior motive? Or have I missed something?7

The EFL haven't said that or anything at all.i_b_b_o_r_g said:If the EFL have said the process is still within the expected time frame, why do people think it's weird and looking for an ulterior motive? Or have I missed something?

Another question - How would RD selling before the end of this tax year benefit him? Is it to write his off his losses?0
