I don’t know how long these things usually take but 6 days does not seem that long.
Probably find that the lawyers acting for the vendor havent filed the paperwork for the transfer. Will Roland have gone back to his favourite Belgian lawyer after the screw up on the sale of Hillborough for the Wendies or does he want the receipt in the next financial year?
I’ve had a txt today to say Guy Luzon might be Tony Watt’s Dad. Not sure how true it is as I have heard nothing to suggest that is case. However The DNA test has taken more than 4 days so I guess it must be true.
Just watching the playoff final highlights again, still brings me to tears. Who would of thought that the BFG's goal would be worth potentially multi billionaire owners.
@TEL I haven’t seen the video, but if Nimer was talking about “green investing” it’s likely he means sustainable rather than agricultural. In banking now, we offer a range of “green facilities” linked to a client’s own credentials. So, developing a carbon neutral office would qualify for lower margins on the loan to develop it.
For football, look at something like what Forest Green did with their stadium. I don’t know how they financed that, but I could have linked that to a green loan and discounted the margin/fee.
Makes sense @TelMc32 probably a combination of both, here is the link

This.
Absolutely convinced if we'd lost we'd still be owned by Roland for another year minimum and with a complete rebuild of the squad required I'm not even convinced we'd have been in the promotion race this season in League One either.
Everything achieved last season would have collapsed in an instant.

Remember saying to my Dad before the trophy presentation that it was a complete game changer winning that match.
It opened us up to so many more options in terms of who may be interested in buying us, and I have no doubt that things would’ve been very bad for us in League One this season.
A real struggle or genuine second chance was decided that day. Luckily it was us who came out on top.
I don't think the transport links are that bad to the Valley.
That’s because they aren’t. When you consider what a ball ache it is to get to grounds like Bolton, Oxford, Colchester etc etc. Numerous buses, train station (albeit South Eastern), jubilee line and DLR not far away - I think we have it pretty good in terms of public transport
I'm probably considered a plastic as I rarely manage to get to The Valley these days (I live in Gloucestershire). However, I really think transport links to The Valley are pretty good. Especially with the DLR/Underground and overground all 'linked' from a ticketing point of view. With four generations of my family supporting the Addicks at The Valley, it would be a wrench for them to move.

Yes. Was talking with a Sunderland fan at work yesterday and we both agreed that the play-off final was a make or break for both clubs. If Sunderland had won, the Dell takeover would have progressed to completion.

I've always felt that the 2015/16 relegation to L1 was a major reason why we ended up stuck with Roland for so long. I remember at the time of the protests that season, people saying that us getting relegated wasn't a bad thing as it was bound to make Roland sell, but I never agreed with this as being in the Championship is far more attractive for potential buyers.
I think the reason was Roland was asking too much for us. Of course if somebody is willing to pay an inflated price they may have more money than somebody who isn't. But I think promotion, but more than that, how we achieved it and our higher profile has put us more out there and it looks like we have been fortunate to get a bite from a big fish.
I know public transport in London is often overcrowded, and the service on Southeastern railway is a long-standing bad joke, but you really do not know you are born when you compare the number of routes and frequency of service available in the Greater London area with that experienced in many other parts of the country.
Compared with many, many football grounds, The Valley has excellent public transport links. Inevitably, being in an urban area means there are difficulties for those who wish (or through infirmity, need) to travel by car and park near the ground. Maybe there is scope in future to organise a Charlton park-and-ride on match days?
I have it on pretty good authority that everybody liked working with Guy Luzon, but he ended up as bewildered and then as marginalised as everybody else. I might have my timings wrong, but I believe he was around at the time Katrien Meire also thought she could pick the team.
Don’t post that much but thought the news warranted some additional info.
Just for the record – Muir and Aussies were never under consideration at all. I had mentioned before that I worked on a contract in Australia that Muir was involved in and Charlton were one of around 30 clubs that his consortium have tried to secure the purchase of, but have never got any further than a flash website and PowerPoint etc.
I know one of the consultants that was involved in due diligence for East Street, and the purchase was wholly just set to pay Roland off, there have not yet been any formal investment initiatives put together as part of the spending plan (which is usually illustrated by purchaser as part of the undertaking, however RD’s only interest was getting a return for the sale and he did not include any provision for new purchaser to be set financial/investment targets etc).
This could be a worry as East Street might opt to devolve the all of the operations and assets which could see around £100million in returns (although protect ted by local council development undertakings). The FA has requested financial forecasts and fund illustrations for the coming 2 years.
However East Street’s initial plans for 2019/2020 have an operational budget of £40 million set aside from day to day operational expenditure; the focus of this is to ensure that CAFC stay in the Championship. The money is to convert loan players, and bring in more on loan (from January onwards). LB will also be offered a new contract and a growth vs. performance strategy will be in place by February which will include a 5 year plan (there is a strategy to gain promotion to the Prem within this 5 year period). Ultimately no one is really sure what/how East Street will invest in the club, but the set-up is very robust and wholly corporate in its nature – what that means is that as long as Charlton has the support it has enjoyed over recent years and if we can show that we have the potential to compete domestically and finally internationally then we will see ongoing investment in the club; however if our prospects go the other way, then there will be little investment and could be broken up and sold.
Overall this is a really good opportunity but is dependent on a number of factors to ensure that we are a solid platform for a robust business venture. East Street will not just throw money at the club, however they do have access to the funds required of a top flight European club.
Assume on another forum that can’t be named and frankly i do not believe a word of it.
That shapely arse of hers didn't go unnoticed at all. Took me a while to realise that it wasn't just cos I couldn't take my eyes off it, why it sounded like she was talking through it. And for the avoidance of doubt yes I still would.
Going back to trains (!), is there a closer station to a ground than at Charlton? Charlton station is literally four or five minutes round the corner from The Valley.

Fancy a lift share? Where in Gloucestershire are you? Im getting to a few games from my base in deepest darkest Newent...

Tarmac over some green space in Bermondsey and base the park and ride there

Sorry, mackems (no I'm not).

Give me The Valley all day long, even if it means I have to wait behind the gate for 20 mins at the station or park a bit further away.
Been nothing yet though...
