    NO, it's not
  • Perhaps it’s those Aussies who only had to “hand some paperwork into the EFL” - in February.

There are no Aussies and there may well be “suitors” - but nothing will happen, and mention of them is pointless.

RD wants almost twice as much as we are worth - however many fans we take to Wembley.

Clubs in the Championship cost the owner about £10m a season to be competitive.  If we are successful
on Sunday, these “suitors” will need between 80-100 million to take a shot at the big time and get repaid.

And with less than seventy two hours to go until we play in our biggest game for years we have our chips well and truly pissed on.

    Oh yes it is...
  • Over 40,000 fans at say an average £50 for a ticket for this game is £2 million and that’s before you start adding on the catering and merchandising. The valley may not hold 40k at the moment but it easily could, more if you redevelop the west stand. If a prospective buyer can’t see a viable business model in that then we probably don’t want them anyway.

Didn’t you mean to say East Stand?

No, the plans for the east won’t add that much because of the gardens behind it but knock down the existing west stand and you can build something as big as you like.

Mmmmm.....re The West Stand,I’m not sure the increase in capacity would make that cost effective.
Jimmy Seed stand demolished and matched up with the Covered End would be part of the answer and then somehow getting a second tier on The East would be the way forward.
The East Stand is the biggest challenge.....but with imaginative design a second tier may well be achievable, though the gardens behind are, as you say, a major sticking point.
  •  Those  gardens are now houses.

Knocking the west stand isn't really sensible.

Regardless basing future league gates on one off Wembley turnouts is just silly.

Absolutely, otherwise Millwall would have the biggest stadium in the country

  • Dunfermline is destroyed by fire.
  • Had some email correspondence during the tenure of Varney a few years ago, when I had queried why we had not taken advantage of the back of the West Stand roof for advertising (even a huge CAFC would of been seen for miles...)  One of his counter arguments was the fact that Greenwich Council were adverse to that option, and that we were at the absolute height limit of any development and/or subsequent signage for that part of the ground.
  • There's definitely still space behind the East Stand for some sort of expansion, but realistically rebuilding the Jimmy Seed would be the main area to expand the capacity.

If we had a decent stay in the PL, then I could see this happening, but wouldn't want to go much beyond 30k

Think it was said a bit tongue in cheek to be honest.

The home play off game and Wembley shows there is really a market if a prospective buyer wants to go for it.

The existing west stand is a wasted opportunity. It could be a lot bigger if demand  ever did outgrow capacity and there is plenty of room to take it further back to accommodate more hospitality and catering on both match days and non match days.

Blimey we were getting less than 9000 in the ground earlier in the season 12000 for the last 2 games of the season.
We're now looking to do a ground to rival man utd
No. We are looking for an owner with ambition who wants a club with potential.

Will be good to see the season ticket sales for next season whether we go up or are still in league 1
