My hunch was always that the money wasn’t the issue. I know people are blaming the Aussies, but who’d want to spend so much time and money buying a football club only to piss about with documents. There’s more to this than meets the eye I think. Roland
I’ve always thought it odd that GM can’t say anything *at all* about what’s going on. I think he’s been warned.
The old Fecker will die eventually, and his next of kin will get rid of us ASAP. Probably for a quid lol Maybe that’s what the Aussies are waiting for😂
Money is the issue in my view (and the lack of it) rather than the price..
How many years has this saga been running? And as LdT says no one has ‘shown him the money’ by which he means slapped their used notes on the table.
As I suggested to LdT tonight, the price ‘range’ asked is clearly too high to get any serious and credible interest. He wouldn’t let on how much that range was tho even when I offered him a fiver for the club.
Would love to be wrong, normally happens when watching a player at the Valley and start being critical - they then do something really food like score, Altho it didn’t work with a Pratley against Sunderland..
Me "What do you understand by "unblocking the funds"
LDT "that the money is available"
Question "Must the takeover be done in January?"
LDT "RD's priority is to sell. The football is good, the club is in a better financial position that last year so that helps"
Q: "if it's not completed does that impact on the manager
LDT "the club is run to the best possible means and with the fact that it (RDs Ownership) may continue. Lee has a budget and it looking for a left back.
LDT "RD knows it is better to fund the club than allow it to go into Administration.
on price. Price has been agreed.
Me "is the price the same for all groups?"
LDT "no" Depends on method of payment, linked to how it is paid, staged payments, payments on results, currencies.
Me "How was the price set". LDT mentions the interview between JW and RD "RD mention the house in Kensington"
Me "what does the house in Kensington mean as we're not a house in Kensington?"
LDT says he doesn't know what RD meant and would have to ask him, tried to push him but he clearly, IMHO realised it wasn't a sensible thing to say and wouldn't be pinned down on it.
I reckon RD & LDT are being relatively truthful. I reckon AA probably have the purchase price, as everyone says. However, they then won't have enough capital for say 5 years. So they have the money, but they don't have the money.
Me - did you quote a price of over £70m to a buyer at short notice.
LDT "I haven't signed an NDA" ( My personal view - OK English isn't his first language but this made no sense. If he hasn't signed an NDA he can comment)
Me - but did you tell a potential buyer the price was over £70m three hours before a meeting having previously agreed a lower price.
LDT "That is a rumour, i can't comment on rumours"
I pushed him on this a few times and he finally said that no, this hadn't happened but he, IMHO squirmed a bit and didn't deny it straight away despite saying he was aware of the "rumour". He did finally say it hadn't happened or anything similar had happened.

Did anyone ask why if RD is so keen to sell have they stuck with the AA bid for so long instead of jogging them on and finding an alternative even if it was for a lower (more sensible) amount?
So it's RDs priority to sell, but two groups have been trying to complete a deal since at least the start of this year. One of those groups was first linked with us nearly two years ago, and their project started at least three years ago (going off their website).

Good work. That is a lie.
Your credibility has already gone mate, so you can pack that in right now..
Have any buyers provided proof of funds for acquisition of the club and to run the club? Yes according to LDT
Has anyone been given exclusivity? No according to LDT
Will Duchatelet only sell to the Aussies No, whoever completes first.
Who was shown around the training ground on 30 December "One of the Australian group"
Did the JW revelations help or hinder the takeover?
LDT "Helped as pushed the 2nd party (the Brits).
Question "Are the Aussies the best option?"
"They want to restore the relationship with the fans, I have told them that one of the first things they need to tell the fans when they takeover is why it took so long" LDT
Both the AA and the Brits are in the "takeover for the football, not the bricks"
The question of "if it's not the money what is the hold up?" was asked more than once but we never got what I would call a satisfactory answer
I asked why after 22 months were the Aussies still considered viable buyers. LDT said that the Brits have been around for as long (in his time at the club ie the last 12 months) and they haven't completed the deal either.
I hope that is useful. I know Golfie will moan (when doesn't he) but the questions were asked and asked again and the answers also questioned but I and the others can't make him say what we want.
An interesting evening even if there was still as least one person happy to lap up what was being said uncritically (not a lifer I think).
Mu own view is that a deal with the Aussies is possible and a deal this window with the Aussie is possible but by no means guaranteed or likely. i think there is a lot more we are not being told and perhaps never will.

So the training ground tour happened as I tweeted, the Aussie money is American as I posted and DeTurck struggled with the £70m, which I knew he would. Pretty fair, I’d say.
Brilliant, even LDT is getting involved with the house buying analogies! Although I’m not sure what Kensington has to do with anything. Did he share any fish puns by chance?

I'm joining team Not Listening. Wake me up when it's all over.
Why would a group from the other side of the earth allow this to drag on for so long?

A real price would attract real buyers。
Certainly doesn't sound as though this is all going to come to a speedy conclusion. Unfortunately.
If RD has been using JW as his stalking horse, only to see the plan fail, I just hope RD does not respond with a January Sale of players.

WIOTOS
I will pour myself a large brandy, don my smoking jacket and retire to the smoking room.
The drawing room is unfortunately full of protest gear.
