The term over-reaction doesn't do this justice. It's incredibly petty.
How someone can have a tantrum which results in the cancellation of a fan-run tradition - especially when that person is supposed to be building bridges with fans rather than building obstacles.
The whole SMT are shit, the sooner this regime goes and they all get the sack the better, gutless human beings and I include all of them.
Daisy, well she is the most ignorant despicable woman I have ever had the mispleasure to meet, she does nothing for women in football ( or anywhere else to be fair).
This has all now gone to far now, we must up the anti to get rid of the vermin.
To Ian, Fanny and the rest of the team, thanks for your great efforts in the past and I am sure you will be back soon.
Support the team not the regime - in all the circumstances this year award PoTY to the entire first team squad for having to suffer the same nonsense as us from RD/KM. #Inittogether
This does seem to be pretty vindictive and petty. I would suggest that it's right and proper to take this to the press and see what they make of it. However, I do think very careful steps should be taken to ensure the facts are crystal clear before issuing any sort of statement. The nature of the 'leaked email' could be critical when it comes to getting the public onside. How scathing was it? Was it referring to the SMT in general or particular individuals? Could it be interpreted by a member of Joe Public (with no allegiance to or against the regime) as being a step too far? Is it possible that Joe Public might think KM has a point (or even, that she's completely in the right)? If, as killerjerrylee says, it was embarrassing, there may be more embarrassment to come for Fanny if details of the email are revealed.
A lot of the points in the OP are unarguable. e.g. The length of time @killerjerrylee and @Fanny Fanackapan have been successfully running the event, Fanny being the current Supporter of the Year, and the support for Fanny from a considerable number of fans. But to really embarrass those in the ivory tower, it is imperative that this situation must be clearly demonstrated to be the vindictive and petty act that it, at first glance, appears to be.
Thanks, Killerjerrylee, for informing us and taking what has to be, a very difficult but unavoidable decision. The work that you and Jean put into organising the POTY is well known and obviously much appreciated by those who attend. KM really is very vindictive and needs to be highlighted as such as much as possible. They chose the wrong Supporter of the Year and club to mess with! Just Go.
Prats Of The Year, KM, RD, East Kent Addicks. Over the course of this season and in fact from the moment your sorry arses walked through the door of our club, you have shown and proved beyond all reasonable doubt, what a total bunch of PRATS you are. Well done, you are worthy winners of Prats Of The Year.
I'd like to thank Ian & Jean for all their efforts. Personally, I think you've made the correct decision and it just shows Meire once again, for the spiteful vindictive person that she is.
Anyway, this will provide excellent media news, I can see the headlines now.
"Charlton CEO Katrien Meire causes Charlton's POTY event to be cancelled after refusing permission for the Supporter of The Year to organise it as usual"
Just sell the club. Shame on you Katrien.
Can we get a statement like this out to the press to embarrass Meire even more?

But as lordromford has said, some serious thought must be put into any statement or it could come back to bite Fanny on the bum.
Another case of if it ain't broke don't fix it. I've never been to one of these nights but look forward to the results, pics and stories from the evening. SMT should give themselves a good pat on the back for another amazing own goal. Why are they royally f****** this club up?
Sad state of affairs instead. Obviously many enjoyed these events in the past but this year our club has plunged to new depths on and off the pitch, the correct decision has been made. It may be like cutting your nose off to spite your face but I'd rather not have anything to do with theses insects that sort of manage the club.
Words fail me. It's the right decision. It really is like dealing with a bunch of badly behaved kids. I think the vote should still go ahead and we hand over the award (with video) at somewhere like the training ground where it can't be stopped easily. I'd come along as part of the group.

If the rumours are to be believed then hopefully they would have gone by then. However; if not, then it should be picketed etc.

Hopefully the O2 will be free sometime in May!!

I'm sure the players will not be allowed to attend any presentation other than the clubs Official one.
To be honest though i can't think of any player who qualifies for the honour.
A shit end to a shit season.

At the Swindon game the fans then wait outside the players entrance after the game to present the winner with his goodies.
What do other people think to this idea?
It's vindictive, pathetic and petty.
Exactly the right decision.
