Basically claiming that he is building for next season by trying out different formations, and that this is what the Board wants him to do too. So both have given up on the play offs.
Well, that's what he says. (Parry never got a word in. Apart from "yeah")
Novak can't tee up Botaka, it's intercepted and he can eventually toe back to Jacko. One two with Aribo, and can't find Novak - Yates now to Roberts, attacks the area but Konsa easily there to Rudd and up to Magennis long.
Yates on it after the control, can't get Dodds free, Bowen on it but Konsa can to Jacko and then Botaka halfway. Can't take on his man - Grimmer intercepts and it's with Jacko now. Novak LH side finds Botaka great touch inside, Holmes in the area, shoots... saved by their keeper. Good play Botaka.
Rudd GK up to Novak, but intercepted by Grimmer. Upfield for Roberts, drops to Whalley halfway, goes down their RH side, Grimmer back now and Aribo pressures so Leutwiler in goal clears but Magennis intercepts and gets it to Jacko. Exchanged and Konsa has to eventually deal with them, gets it up to Botaka now - stays in, Novak then fouled by Nsiala.
Quick FK to Holmes... no idea what went on, high wide not so handsome cross type thing, goal kick.
There are many on here going on and on about dumping the 4-2-3-1 (because god knows if it's not 4-4-2 in the British game it won't work, except for just about every Premier League winning side bar Leicester in the last decade), we do it, Robinson gets pelters. We play an attacking side, he gets pelters. Also, Jay DaSilva IS NOT A LEFT BACK AT THIS LEVEL. I feel like we go over this once or twice a week now. He's just too small. Kieren Gibbs went through a similar process until he filled out a bit. Ditto Leighton Baines. DaSilva is here as a winger.
I feel like the stick Robinson gets at times is just ridiculous. He's not a world beater, he may not be right for the club, the results and performances of late have been awful. But if you want a British manager, this is the type of baggage you get. And god knows how many on here bayed and bleated for a British manager. Him and Slade at two ends of the spectrum, but with similar results.
All that said, the skipper at left back is odd, but I'm guessing Robinson expects them to sit deep and defend (which JJ can do and do well providing height for defensive headers) and hit them on the counter with pace on the wingers. It's basically what we did at home against them where it felt like they have a lot of the ball, so I figure why not.

Da Silva has been described as a wide midfielder/wing back, which suggests he wouldn't play in a flat back 4.
COYR...........
Like others have said, fear for poor old Cap'n Jacko at LB.
Robbo had to find a place for a leader, I suppose.
Pagey's confidence seems to be a bit shot.
Would have been better to give Barnes his debut at LB - at least he's a specialist fullback.
Throws over halfway to Botaka, sharp pace and he cuts in, 1-2 Holmes, left foot - scuffed wrong and it's through to the keeper off a deflection.
