Anyone meet with the manager today?

  • Sounds like Essex Al is getting his retaliation in first.

Anything that comes out not fitting with his world view of "everything is great Riga Slade Robinson is great, the regime is great, Meire is great, Duchatelet is great, Charlton are performing the best they can and all protesters want the team to fail" will be dismissed as lies and distortions by the evil Trust people who have an agenda and who hate the club aren't real fans like him.

Of course Essex Al won't say what WAS said according his friend as that would expose this tactic.

Whatever comes out he will just go to the other forum and slag CL members off, or boast how he upset people. It's his modus operandi it seems.
I would relish 3 hours and a good few many pints in the company of a footballing professional with his levrl of enthusiasm.
  • I believe people were driving so the drinking was in moderation.

Yes, two members of the Trust Board plus two other fans met with Robinson and Barker plus Rubashow. The Trust will write up a report in next day or two.

Be interesting to see the write up because my mate was one of the other two
    Reams?

Sounds positive, why not give us the lowdown.
Be interesting to see if there is any divergence in emphasis or interpretation from the other write up when it comes through.
That's exactly why I'm not saying anything until I see the write up to see if it is a true representation of the evening or what Trust members want to hear!

And, no it certainly wasn't Reams!
Why don't you put yours out there first then if it's the true representation, what's to hide? You can bash the Trusts version either way if you think it's bollocks, as I'm sure you will.
Maybe Al had the approval of his pal to mention this on CAFC forums but not to divulge the details?

Did anyone tell KR that RD isn't bothered whether we win games or not, as long as we are playing youngsters to show case them in the first team ?

Also, that he believes Charlton fans are stupid for wanting to win games and we should be content to just go for a dance afterwards ?

    Genuine questions.
  • Err...as far as I know, he did not tell people he spoke to HW on Weds. And if he spoke to HW on Weds, how come the article covered a meeting that happened on Thu evening? Confused.

I've just listened back to the press conference and Karl certainly says he interviewed with HW on Wednesday, so you're correct there is some confusion now in the time line. I'll do some digging. Possible HW followed up on the phone maybe for an update?

Thanks. KR does ask at end of article that we respect his honesty.

  • It's not unusual for a major piece like that to be written over several days, to be fair.
  • Just checked with the Trust guys present. There was mention of KR having ongoing press meetings in which the fan meeting was likely to come up so assume as AB says the contact with HW was both before and after. So don't think there's anything odd going on - beyond the usual at the club ;-)
  • Have had it confirmed he met with HW on Wednesday and then there was a follow up call on Friday.

Fuck me, @SDAddick - what happened there, mate? I read the first bit and then skimmed through looking for mentions of Area 51 and little green men! I know things are a bit shit, but I'm sure nukes wont be flying soon. I promise!

Am I right in saying you're visiting Charlton soon, btw? For some odd reason I've had it in my mind that you're over soon. I'll buy you a few beers if so.

If you're not? Then I dunno tbh. I feel like a stalker thats invented some story about his prey visiting him..

    Yours,
    A drunken LuckyReds.

I had originally said Feb of this year, but I've continued to have health problems unfortunately, so trying to get that sorted. Also just started a new consulting gig (I'll send you a Slack on that). Genuinely touched that you remembered. I promise there will be warnings aplenty when I next head over.

I may take that rant down. It really was very tongue-in-cheek, though I'm gathering it's something you need to know me and see my face to understand. I think the best way to describe it is to think of Larry David...but like less serious and more self-aware (maybe Jon Stewart rant then?).

Anyway, genuinely sorry to have hijacked this thread. I promise that was in no way my intention, this thread is really important and really heartening.
You're such a bloody tease, no wonder I was expecting Feb.. jokes aside, I hope the health issues pick up mate. My slack is usually open too.

Don't worry about leaving funny posts that end up embarassing though, I've got a post about a threesome with two Latvian ladies on another thread. That went a bit wrong too...

    Get better soon mate.
At least that was ages ago so everyone's forgotten about it now.

    I think it's on the Trust website, here you go;
    http://www.castrust.org/2017/02/close-encounters-charlton-kind/
  • "The scouse in him" made him "a stand up guy". Discuss.
  • Who were the other two fans? Were the from other supporter groups? Did they get a cab there driven by a Spurs fan?
  • "asking Tom specifically to note down a few things, especially concerning the financial investment in the form of debt"

One of them has been well-known to me since the 1980s and as previous mentioned is an occasional contributor to VOTV. Whatever he is, he's not a stooge for the regime. He's just someone who had written to Robinson.

    Thanks Airman, good to hear.
