Yes the East german thing has great potential for Leipzig, as it taps into the resentment that lingers there among some (although myself I don't have much sympathy for that resentment). Dynamo Dresden are hauling themselves back up, but Hansa Rostock are deep in the mire.
I think RD thinks he is going to ride that wave too, he has business in the regioan and seems to me to seek acclaim from the grateful citizens.
Austrian top level football has been until recently worse than Czech football, although there has been a mini renaissance in the last 5 years, the national team is the strongest for a while. While I was there on holiday in summer I saw village team stadia with really great looking facilities, but you don't feel they have football in their soul. 2008 in Innsbruck was dire, we stayed the previous night in Munich and you'd have thought the tourno was in Germany, not Austria.

What about Karl Zeiss Jena? They've got a good set-up with a wealthy owner who loves his football. I'm sure they'll be back at the top in no time.
Either watch our club languish in the lower tiers of League football to be a perpetual shop window for our gifted academy players and the not-so-gifted network journeymen, and watch our attendances dwindle to virtually nothing.
Or have a chance back at Premier League glory, but risk anything from the Valley being rebranded the Red Bull Valley, to our badge being rebranded with the bull.
The first option condemns our club, but the second option condemns our heritage. What's more important?
Something like this? It's got the bull and keeps our sword.
Could someone please explain how that is worthy of a flag?

Probably because it's a disgusting picture showing animal torture that people would not choose to see.
What are the lottery numbers this week Sam, seeing as you've got your crystal ball out.
We've been through this many, many times. They don't buy clubs to enhance a team's prospects, they do it to enhance the Red Bull brand (whilst changing the name and kit).
Have "we" been through it many many times? What was my view then, seeing as you seem to know all about me?
For the record, I wouldn't want red bull as owners. But Sam seems to be saying that we'd be better off under the current shitpot because he knows exactly what both parties would do. Not a view or opinion on what they might do. He KNOWS what they are thinking. He's gifted.
It's not difficult, look at every team red bull have bought. New badge new name new kit couloir and new stadium name. We would absolutely be better off identity wise under these lot
All their teams end up being one of the best in the world in each sport though....
Red Bull Salzburg isn't even best in Austria any more. Check it out
Since Red Bull bought them, they've won the league 7 times and been runner up 4 times. I bet their fans are gutted they were bought!
I am referring particularly to what has happened since RB Leipzig started rolling.
how do you mean? Salzburg won the league last year and Leipzig have had several promotions to now be near the top of the bundasliga.
Earlier in the season I read that it looked like Salzburg had dropped down RB's priorities after Leipzig got into B1. I may be wrong but didn't the Leipzig coach come from Salzburg? Salzburg crashed out of the UCL qualifying rounds, and started badly in the Europa League, although I now see they have picked up, but still unlikely to qualify for knockouts. So they are doing no better than Rapid Vienna and Austria Vienna in Europe and the talk was that with so much money behind them, they really should be, and that in fact the money was being diverted to Leipzig.
But maybe it was just fan reaction to a disappointing start and the departure of some players.
While updating myself I noted that in their (good) last Europa League win over Schalke they got a crowd of 23,000, however the previous Bundesliga game only attracted less than 5,000. You can see there why RB as a business would prioritise Leipzig, with much bigger crowds (the only Eastern German team in B1 for years) and much more TV revenue
didn't know Leipzig were the only eastern german team in the top league. that's a massive incentive to get them up there. must be a big catchment area (though some wouldn't go anywhere near them due to the red bull connection) as for Salzburg I would of thought they could probably keep them in the Austrian top division without huge amount's of spending. (btw I have never seen a Austrian game but I presume it isn't top notch football) the home support probably would be even worse if the employees of red bull weren't being forced asked to go.
if they took over an English lower league team they would pump money into in till they are in the prem. like with most of their sporting adventures they want to be up there competing with the best. which of course goes along with their main product which makes you personally better and more energisedfat and gives you heart and kidney failure (goes with the charger comment before) if you drink it. also the prem has the most money apart from maybe china now. however I think the hurdle in this country of trying to change the name of a club might have put them off, for now anyway.

FTFY
We all need more taurine in our lives. You need to realign your attitude to harmful chemicals;-)
I doubt they'd be able to change the name of the club.
Hull Tigers, anyone??
The FA let Wimbledon change their name when they moved.
Different scenario. MK are seen and treated by the FA as a new club, not as a relocated Wimbledon. Hence refusing to allow MK to claim Wimbledon's FA cup win.

Hmmm, now let me think.
Basically the same as saying "not for sale".
If he thinks his EVER going to see that money or his investment again - he must be crackers , but then again we knew that!
However, whether he's quoted that price as he knows they're mega loaded is another story!
