On reading the Robinson comments again, there is a lot of questionable stuff, why do interviews with Belgium media ? Is this an order from Duchatelet to help try & shore up the Duchatelet media in Belgium ? (Shows that protests / actions that reach the Belgium media draws a response).
Why see the STVV & Leige game ? Are there some players, foistered on him from the network that he has to look like / convince himself that he has some say over ? Robinson is going to 'try' to get a board meeting ? Erm, he doesn't know yet or is Duchatelet too busy, attending to all the other more important stuff ( I wish Duchatelet would just feck off & tend to all his other more important business personally).
What's with all the president guff ? A fortunate victory over MK Dons more from their first poor half finishing in an apparently terrible game is no way an apology for Millwall by some way. As welcome as a victory is. Like Duchatelet gives two fat flying decks what Charlton supporters think about anything (if they are not in agreement with Duchatelet, no opinion counts).
Why play square pegs in round holes in the first place ? Good he identifies midfielders & winger. A lot of verbal stuff that raises more questions when you read it & a lot that does not make any sense at all.
Robinson talks like a salesman trying to sell you a deficient product that if he talks quickly enough, you will forget about the deficiencies & buy it. The truth behind all of it, is that whatever Rubishaw / Pitch PR spins, whatever Robinson talks about, or what derisory rubbish Duchatelet or Meier comes out with, the evidence of their efforts is on the field on match day. That has clearly not been good enough so far.
Just watched Robinson on League 5 goal rush. Looks like he is gone from trying to convince Charlton fans to try & convince himself, (whilst spinning the injury excuses) that everything is going to work out. It could be different if he gets his injured players back & he gets 3 or 4 players in.
Good luck with that, well done on preparing the ground for excuses if you don't get the players & it all goes pear shaped.
I think he probably is already there, he will be on the other side of the table.
He'll have Driesen's results from the FM 16/17 season printed out: P46 W46 - players used 18 - Profit - £150mill (Roger Johnson to Man Utd in surprise move by Utd Manager Mr. Driesen2) - Number of times game reloaded and matches replayed (14,569).
A couple of weeks ago (the BBC London interview I think) he said there'd already been 4 or 5 meetings about the transfer window, like everything was already done & dusted... Looks like, as per usual, he was talking bollox
Carl and the team have probably been summoned by El presidente to be given some tactical coaching re 442 formation and Roland's latest idea the 9 0 1 formation.
"I’m going to try to get a board meeting and have a chat and do some press over there as well about what players I want to try and bring in"
The norm would be that you arrange a meeting with the board before you travel, surely.
If he doesn't get the meeting why drag 4 people out to Belgium.
Why does he need to tell the Belgium press what players he wants to try and sign, I mean do the Belgium press really give a toss about players for CAFC. Certainly strange comments.
You guys sure something hasn't been lost in translation from scouse.
Roland to play lip service, smile and nod, reveal bad teeth. Katrien to revel in her own level of smugness and pretend she has fucking clue what KR might be talking about. Why they're bringing poor old JJ with them when he could be spending some time with his family I'll never know. Could be the most cringeworthy 'meeting' in the whole of 2016
Jackson.....Why? Surely he wont agree to being dragged to Belgium for a rather weird meeting.
Robinson sounds like a bit of a suck up.
He wants to please Roland and it will all fall on deaf ears and be a waste of time.
Naive indeed.
I think, while on his way home, he will realise that he should revise his contract to seek the best outcome for himself on how he can leave Charlton without damaging his reputation but still get paid off.
I think Roland has called Karl over to discuss changing Charlton into the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club with Karl taking the Bernard Manning role as compere
Certainly a bit curious as to why he thinks going to watch a St Truiden game is (in his words)....."important".....yes a rather strange thing to say......or is it?
JJ has to be looking at his career after playing so giving him a wider role is a good thing in my opinion and good man management from KR to involve him. A good thing if KR, who I trust knows what is needed, is able to persuade the owner - but I'm not holding my breath. Could be a very important meeting though and I wish him well.
Roland needs to ask one question in this meeting. What do you need to get promoted? I doubt that question will be asked without all sorts of interference and bullshit.
The more a proper Charlton man like JJ is involved, the happier I am, as long as his input is valued and listened to. For me, taking him, and his comments yesterday about how JJ will be a manager one day, is the softening up process beginning of moving JJ to a coaching role, or releasing him at the end of the season, I.e. KR has told him he doesn't figure long term, but will use him when needed and give him his opportunity to start a coaching career if wanted.

Give Jacko a day off.

President? Do me a favour.

Robinson is making it up as he goes along.
I didn't vote for him! Is it too late to impeach him?
Jacko released by end of January if he dares to disagree with the dear leader.

Then, if Roland does not deliver, KR can get Jacko to confirm that he tried.
