Just booked up. My first trip to the New Den. Can anyone recommend best route from Sidcup. Either train or car? Cheers
Get off a New Cross mate and take a stroll through the Sainsburys and estate. There is a decent pub on route called 'The Rose. It does some decent craft ale.
just got mine. they're the seats closest to the edge. which means I will get a great view of all those spanners pulling faces and making various and some quite complex hand gestures.

Seconded. A good pub The Rose and shouldn't have any of our silly lot in, just normal fans. It's New Cross Gate though that's opposite the Rose and next to Sainsbury's. If you get off at New Cross you'll have a bit further to walk but pass another couple of decent pubs, including the nearly refurbed New Cross House which is a superb pub now and The New Cross Inn as well as a couple of other friendly and fairly trendy boozers.
Quite a few of my Millwall mates reckon this'll be our year. Most of them aren't going to the game though, a couple have Christmas work do's and one is on a promise (with his cousin).

The Rose that used to be called the Hobgoblin? Now that was a pub will a silly lot in it! There are quite a few decent pubs in New Cross.

Used to be called the Rose, got changed to the Hobgoblin for a bit, then back to The Rose. New Cross is fine for a pre match drink. All the nutters drink around Bermondsey mostly these days. Down the blue usually.
On a separate note, who would take a draw now if offered? I would. Really not confident about this one.

Nah, it's been so long since we beat you even the draws feel like a loss to me

Cannot believe some of the ridiculous optimism being displayed by a few of you on here. It's like you've never been to watch a Charlton vs Millwall fixture before.
Quick reminder of the scenario last time we played them at The Toolbox. It was the 14/15 season, Millwall were getting relegated whilst whilst Crouching Guy, Hidden Luzon had overseen a remarkable improvement having got through Katrien's rigorous recruitment process - basically, they were about as "there for the taking" as you can get, form going into that game as follows:
Charlton - 2 wins on the spin, 7 wins in the last 9 Millwall - no wins in 9, no home win for 5 (Yes, FIVE) full months.
Despite the above, we still managed to lose 2-1. This time round, we're dead level on points and yet everyone's making wildly optimistic predictions about getting a draw or even a win. Madness!
6-0 to The Scum, kept in the ground for an hour after the game for our own safety, in the freezing cold, and then when we finally get out, all the trains have been cancelled and there's no buses due to a burst water main, so we all have to walk home to wherever we live, and then it starts chucking down with rain.
Rang a couple of hours ago, and they said they had sold out. Then saw a tweet that there were 17 left and managed to get the extra 3 i needed. thank fook for that.

We're doomed.
Knew you'd shoehorn mention of a train in there somewhere.
First time since 1981 that I won't be there. Nailed on win.
Been thinking the same. But then the sensible head of mine kicks in that Millwall could play their canteen staff (including Joyce with the varicose veins) and still churn out a 0-0.
Couple of Spanners in the group I'm out with that night. Won't be playing 'loser buys the beers' that's for sure

First time since 1981 that I won't be there = nailed on win.
I'm that confident about it I might even have a bet on it to try to make up for my disappointment - on us!

Within 10 mins of sitting at my desk, I did 100% about turn and didn't bother.
