I think Barcelona has it right. Pick a single formation for the club. I prefer 4-3-3 but would be fine with 4-4-2. Play it at all levels of the club. This develops players who know their responsibilities and can be slotted in the first team easily. All new managers must play the formation or they don't get the job. Players can't hide.
I think a great club is one that makes opponents adopt to them, not respond to the latest chess move by every opponent by changing formations or going with the formation du jour making the rounds of the club at the top of the PL.

I am annoyed by what seems a career long history of bringing in players with history of injury and then these injuries continue unabated once they join under his tenure.
I suspect it is a combination of stupidity and likely poor fitness drills and exercises. Whatever the reason it seems chronic and it seems to happen every season wherever he manages.4 -
The only reasons I might keep him are...
1. The club is higher in the table than this time last year despite complete chaos in the boardroom, which can't be denied
2. Who is available who is actually better and would be willing to manage in League One who was not just fired for being an awful manager?0 -

If Robinson moves on I wouldn't blame him and I certainly wouldn't appoint Jacko.
I love Jacko for the legend he is, but not enough to let him learn on the job here.3 -
at the end of the season
at best karl robinson got a top 4 sqaud into the playoffs in 6th position who went out in the semis, by a 0-0 draw at home followed by a 4-0 drubbing next.
at worst karl robinson finished 7th with a top 4 squad.2 -
If the takeover’s as close as Murray says then he must think there’s a good chance he’ll be given the bullet.
Oxford only up the road from Milton Keynes where his family is based.

Not really. Takeover will happen and if the new board really wanted Powell they could try poach him from Southend. Even if they can’t poach him, hopefully board come with new ideas and already have a new manager lined up that can take us forward. I think Robinson took the job because he had the vision to see what the club could be. Unfortunately, there is a question mark as to whether he has the ability to get us to that point. Having said that, it can't be easy working under Roland - our squads have always been unbalanced under him, and often a couple of signings away from being decent, but those signings don't come.
I wouldn't sack him, we still have a chance of promotion and he ought to be focusing on that. But depending on where we are with the takeover, it might be sensible for him to walk. If he did walk, I think he will be remembered as an ok manager - nothing more, nothing less.1 - Sponsored links:

They didn’t give Pep Clotet time, so why would they give Robinson time. I’ve always said this with Robinson, attractive but not effective football. He seems to just stick to his formation in the hope that it comes good and that deeply worries me. A broken clock can be right twice a day and although we may get a win here or there, he needs to learn to be more pragmatic and stop thinking he’s some football purist with a wonder tactic.
