He had the players and a half decent squad and many brought in by himself. If he had been just a bit more adventurous we would be pissin this league by now.Onwards and Upwards.COYR
I honestly think he would be thinking this proves it was wrong to sack him. But he would have been far more negative and Nugent clearly has positive intent in the way he sets up. Slade hasn't. Maybe the manager the club appoints hasn't. Why risk it - give Nugent time to win the job.
Slade was tactically useless. He set his teams up to avoid defeat, not to win games. That was his big problem, and in my opinion the reason why in a long career in football management the guy has won ZERO.
Last night in many ways the match was very similar to Port Vale away last month. At Port Vale had he had been more attack minded we would definitely have won the match and very possibly scored a similar amount of goals to last night's match.
But Slade was so set in his ways that he continued to stick with an ageing and slow midfield and ignore other options such as playing Chicksen.
In my opinion had he been more adventurous we would now be sitting in probably 4th place in the league, with about 10 more points than we currently have.
Slade in my opinion was the easiest and most deserved dismissal out of all the sackings we have made. Full of excuses hate the way kept referring to it as a process hense trying to buy himself time. It's frustrating because we are all keen to blame roly and co but the truth is they backed Slade and the likes of Ajose and Holmes wont have come cheap.

But he's probably thinking, it's all my work, if only Katrien had been a bit mote patient

Good riddance to Slade, he was a useless wanker.
He's got nobody to blame but himself
