Happy to have been one of the Flanders 14 (13 actors and the taxi), Where do I get my polo shirt?
I was a late addition to fill @SE7toSG3's car so can only admire all the planning that others did. I did organise the evening in the brewery so now we know that yes, Charlton fans can organise piss ups in such an establishment.
Good company, good cause, good trip, good result.
On the way home we visited the Yorkshire trench near Ypres, the Menin Gate and the grave of Nobby Nightingale.
The press coverage and Talksport interview with Alan has brought the situation back to the fore again, but what surprised me was RD's response to Jim Whites text, he virtually said, in public, he don't give a damn and KM can deal with it. That's not delegation, its abdication of the highest order.
Well done to all involved. a pleasure to see you off, and sorry I don't live near enough to welcome you back. From what I read it could not have gone much better, you should be proud of what you have achieved. Our great club deserves better when it comes to ownership and SMT, but it has fans who rank among the finest in the land. We will win again, have no doubt about that, however long it takes.
Great trip and an honour to be involved , thanks to Captain Mainwaring ( Alan ) for all the work put in. Keep chipping away , they don't like it up e'm
Seth, having established that you *somehow* now know how to post to CL from your phone so ancient we bought it from the Pyramids of Giza gift shop, I'm expecting the "PADDY COME HELP THE THING WITH THE TECHNOLOGY'S NOT WORKING" requests to scale back a bit
Good man Seth. But we're all dying to know the one thing you haven't mentioned: do the Belgians do a vegetarian cheese?
I didn't ask! Given some of the encounters I'm not sure I would have been given a straight answer. The real cheese sandwich expert around here is Tony Keohane, you could try asking him
Also, thanks to @SE7toSG3 to some amazing insights into the Great War on our return journey.
Great company. Nice to spend time with those I knew and nice to meet the people I didn't. To the latter, I say I'm sorry, I don't normally spend that much time on my phone!
It seems to have caused a splash but that's enough of the back patting - there is plenty yet to be done. We move on to organising the next steps.
A very good few days' work, all of you, remarkable and fantastic effort and commitment, you have done Charlton supporters proud. Good on everyone of you involved in this.
"It is not up to them (supporters/protesters) to decide who takes over the club – I will take that decision myself at the appropriate time."
A glimmer or am I reading too much into it?
Hopefully he is proper browned off with Charlton and how it is blowing back into his real life in Belgium and costing him a fortune too. The cracks are starting to show. I reckon he wants to sell but his natural born stubbornness and the unrealistic price he has in mind is stopping him from getting it done quickly and painlessly.
Rich people hate being told what to do by poor people.
Absolutely spot on. This is now about nothing more than his arrogance, stubbornness and personal pride! Said it before and will say it again; she and he only now have one aim/goal. That's to reek revenge and cause us (the fans) as much hurt and pain as is legally possible before they do one. The issue of course is - just how far are they prepared to go to achieve this?
We really are dealing with a bunch of sadistic big business 'wannabes' here and their bruised pride may well take a long time to heal! They are focused on nothing more than revenge now in my opinion. The money that he ultimately loses will be recouped elsewhere and is no issue to him. We are a mere lowly pawn in his child like game.
Worryingly accurate post methinks.
I don't doubt between him and the squirrel they have got to the stage of having a "let us f*** the fans over" attitude.
It does not make sense why Duchatelet stays.
It does not make sense why squirrel face is still here.
My role this weekend was to turn up, travel round Belgium, and engage with the public/hand out leaflets. I have been blown away by the planning and behind the scenes work that has gone on to ensure the trip run smoothly. i don't think the people at CARD get nearly enough credit for the enormous effort that is put in before these events to make sure they happen. I simply had no idea before this trip. Truely awesome.
I think it was brilliant that you & Fanny went, as it counter acts the latest regime propoganda, that we are critical of Meire because she is a woman. Very well done to all of you.
How can we hail you? I don't know about anyone else, but yours is now the only taxi I want to travel in. And if I don't need a taxi, I'll invent an excuse why I do.
How can we find you? How about at the Trust AGM Thursday? I need a lift back to Eltham.
Brilliant stunt, respect to everyone involved. Expect recruitment director from Pitch to come calling, they desperately need some help with one of their clients in the football space trying to get some positive publicity.

Persuaded the marvellous cardinal Sin to drop me off on the way back.
Hence earlier than anticipated.
Judging by 16 pages on here may I say to all posters that the karma of knowing about all this support humbles me.
Thank you so much.

And all the other "actors".
You've all created a legendary chapter in the history of Charlton Athletic.
A privilege to be at The Valley when the heroes and heroines returned tired but triumphant. Proud as ever to be an Addick.
Message to Mr D - you may have our dear old club on life-support but rest assured the heartbeat is still as strong and steady as ever.
We are MANY - We are ONE - We are WINNING
About those shorts Al...
Seriously though, top work.
Given some of the encounters I'm not sure I would have been given a straight answer.

I think we could class that as a success! Football, political and business interests all attacked as well as a reaction from Duchatelet.
Special mention to Mainwaring for his superb organisation for the trip - well done, Grandad... :-)
A pleasure to spend the trip in the cab with Mainwaring, @Fanny Fanackapan, @Arsenetatters and our brilliant cabbie Chris.
Also, thanks to @SE7toSG3 to some amazing insights into the Great War on our return journey.

Squirrel face in the early days banging on about being a Charlton fan, my arse!
Squirrel face will not set foot into a SE7 postcode ever again once she hurries out with her P45.
For the sake of the economy around SE7, can we all do some work tomorrow now and earn some money? We have to contribute to your jollies don't forget!
God knows what would happen if KM resigned or RD sold up, we really would only be able to afford Vol au vents at the party :-)
Very well done all, resounding success in my books.
They really did buy the wrong club.
I hate saying this but I think this is a fact we cannot shy away from.
