Was an interesting one at Swansea.ForeverAddickted said:
Notts County Manager when they were fighting with Wrexham for promotion from the National League, went to Swansea after doing pretty well the next year in League Two and flopped.Bedsaddick said:Can’t say I’ve ever heard of Luke Williams
He started well and the they looked strong and then sold their best player to Coventry without replacing him as well as signing a few very untested players from abroad.
Vipotnik looks like a cracking signing but they seem to have got a few duds with it.Don’t think he was the main problem at Swansea. A club that didn’t seem to know what it wanted. 3 completely contrasting styles of Duff to Williams to Alan Sheehan in 18 months while still in a relegation battle suggests the club is not working well.
Think Peterborough have got a cracking hard working manager there. Will be a challenge for them and their squad to stay up but he can definitely do it. The job he did at Notts County was outstanding.4 -
It’s funny how Peterborough were often held as an example of a decently run club, especially in the way they scouted players.
Yet now we don’t look that far from a reality where we could be in the premiership and they could be in league two.
Obviously we’ve improved the way we are run beyond recognition, but does not feel like Peterborough have changed much.1 -
Victim.of their own success in signing low, selling high etc - I feel like players arrived well aware that they all wanted to use Peterbrough as a stepping stone only - they've had players only looking to sign shorter contracts, and then others happy to run their deal down, so in both cases resale isn't much.FishCostaFortune said:It’s funny how Peterborough were often held as an example of a decently run club, especially in the way they scouted players.

Plus if you're constantly losing good players and hoping gambles on lower league/non-league players work, it only takes a few misses and you're in trouble.8 -
The other problem is that they didn't adapt their plan. Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford all started their rise up the leagues by finding hidden gems but they were sensible enough to know they had to make tweaks as they continued progressing. You can't be a top end L1 team constantly raiding non league, you have to be looking for the undervalued L2, lower end L1 & Scottish players. To some extent it's what we did with the signings of Ramsay, Edwards, Jones, Mannion and Small (I know he was at Southampton but he was loaned out to Scotland)North Lower Neil said:

Long statement from Plymouth on how crucial it is to stick with Tom Cleverley which just translates to “we can’t afford to sack him”
He has lost the fans, can’t see any other outcome.0 -

And they’re currently 2 games into a run of 6 consecutive away games.0

Patrick Vieira has left his role as Genoa head coach by mutual consent, with the team bottom of Serie A.

Not sure who's going to want to go to Wolves. The owners seem desperate to sell and have seemed to have turned off the taps financially , I assume with pressure from Beijing.

Who’s next? Liam Manning or Will Still?0

Both very soon I imagine. Will Still won't be at Southampton by the time we play themLargeAddick said:Who’s next? Liam Manning or Will Still?1 -
Saw something that suggested both were interested in Russell Martin but I’m guessing that’s just lazy journalism0

He came back to this country with this big reputation, yet whenever you hear him interviewed after games he sounds completely gormless and totally uninspiring.Gravesend_Addick said:

Will Still will still think that with Will Still’s steely will, we’ll still wonder: will Will Still still be manager come the weekend?13

Just seen his interview after their game yesterday, bloke could hardly string two words together.1 -
As said above Still interviews terribly and I can’t imagine he’d be that inspiring to his players.0

He's clearly a broken man.iaitch said:Gravesend_Addick said:

Will Still looks miles out of his depth, players make up their minds pretty quickly on managers and by the looks of it, his fate is sealed.0

Still sacked according to BBC. No surprise really.0

Well that could make it harder to keep Bree in the building come January5

Under-21 head coach Tonda Eckert will oversee interim charges. Ruben Martinez, Clement Lemaitre and Carl Martin, who were Still's assistants, have also left the club.clive said:Southampton Football Club can confirm that we have this evening parted ways with Men’s First Team Manager Will Still.

I suspect it wasn't something they would have planned on doing today, as the obvious time is after next Saturday where there's an international break, but performances have been so poor I guess they felt like they had to act.
It's a ridiculous aspect of modern football, that the whole coaching setup arrives and leaves with the manager. They have a game on Wednesday, and have to rely on the U21 coach alone.1 -

Wolves sold £100m of players in the summer - how much of that did they spend on replacements ? The owners have to take responsibility too.6
