Managerial sackings, comings and goings

Ian Evatt early favourite to replace him - ex-player I guess.1

Inevitable but sad. This was the season where the owner invested and the expectation was to push on for promotion.
Injuries have not helped but the performances have been shocking.
Bruce is a top guy but after the tragic family events, has never been the same. Wish him well.
PS, delighted with how you are doing in the Championship, keep it up Addicks.32 -
He’ll walk into another job . Blackpool was his twelfth or thirteenth club . Ridiculous reallyFortune 82nd Minute said:
And that surely must be his goodbye from professional football.ForeverAddickted said:Steve Bruce has been sacked by Blackpool1 -
Next man utd manger. They're planning ahead for once and looking for someone with EFL experience.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Maybe if he gets them relegated he can win the Championship next year?2 -

Absolutely no surprise. Writing on the wall for ages but he needed a police escort to get to his car today, can’t come back from thatkillerandflash said:

What an absolutely horrendous appointment this has been. Will be interesting to see who they go for next and if Martin will be back in the championship somewhere this seasonkillerandflash said:

Russell Martin wrote his own death warrant with that press conference following their first match. Ferguson might have given the hairdryer treatment to the players within the confines of the dressing room but would usually defend them in interviews to the nth degree.0
-
Kevin Muscat early favourite.
Would leave me hoping they get even worse.3 -
Russell Martin is a dud. He even said it when the boss at MK. Outright said that there is no plan B. At Southampton players would repeatedly try to play out from the back, get caught & concede a sloppy goal. So instead of changing tactics & going to a plan B they carried on.....got relegated & he got the sack. When will clubs learn ? He'll keep doing it his way, get found out & then get sacked. Rinse & repeat.5

Wouldn't mind betting that he'll be one of the favourites for the Norwich job when Manning gets sacked (which can't be far off given their start to the season). Martin played at Norwich for quite a few years.MarcusH26 said:

Despite being an absolute cunt of a man, he seems to be a decent manager and has won titles in Australia, Japan and China, and with 4 games to go this season his team are top of the league again. If they win it would mean in the last 5 years his teams have won 3 league titles and finished runner up twice.North Lower Neil said:Kevin Muscat early favourite.

That wouldn't surprise me actually, good shout there Chris. I don't even think Manning being a local boy is going to give him that much longer after yesterday.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

What a terrible move that was for everyone.
Could have been in the Championship with Wycombe where he's a hero, but instead they hate him and he's been relegated then sacked at Luton.8 -

Even at EFL clubs, managers seem to have teams of people with them. Not just Bloomfield sacked. That's the Lee Harrison who came through our academy in the 90s, but never played a 1st team game.

Bloomfield's assistant Richard Thomas, first-team coach Lee Harrison and analyst Ben Cirne have also left Kenilworth Road.1 -

This was part of the problem with the Garner appointment, we brought over the wrong part of his back room teamkillerandflash said:Even at EFL clubs, managers seem to have teams of people with them. The only problem with the Garner appointment was that we appointed Garner. Shit manager.5 -
Him, Holden and Appleton all three who should never have even been thought about, let alone appointed.Athletico Charlton said:fenaddick said:

I could see the logic appointing Garner - young coach, had a decent season in the league below playing good football, apparently highly thought of as a coach at Palace etc.ElfsborgAddick said:

What made no sense was TS appointing a manager to change the style of play when he was planning to cut the budget and not give a manager anything to work with to change that style of play. Doomed to fail, and if he was planning those sort of cutbacks then sticking with Jackson who was more pragmatic made so much more sense.10
