I'm a fairly new addition to the whiskey world, but I've got a modest collection of bottles in the 50 to 90 quid range which I am cheerfully working through (especially after recent Charlton matches). Any suggestions gratefully revieved - my current favourite is the Dalmore called The Trio which my wife picked up as an airport exclusive. I have my eye on a Chivas Regal 18 year old gold label for new year - anyone tried it?
Do you like peated whisky Ken?
If you do I can recommend the Port Charlotte 10yo which you can pick up for £50-60.
Visited Ardbeg, Bunnahabhain, Lagavulin and Laphroaig.
Absolutely superb. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.
Been there myself couple of times. Seen Laphroaig, lagavulin, bowmore and bruichladdich. Lovely place. Some of the non touristy bars are a bit star-wars esque. Well worth a visit
I bought a bottle of Indri single malt for my Indian friend. I've no idea if its any good but he was well made with it. I know Indian men like their whisky and India produces vast amounts of the stuff so it cant be that bad, surely? About 30 quid in Goa and a bit more here, not that I saved anything buying it 4500 miles away.

Last time I was in Goa (about 10 years ago) whisky, vodka and most other spirits was about £4 a bottle. Beer in a restaurant was about 40 pence a bottle. Needless to say I enjoyed myself.

Its caught up with the world now at least in the bigger hotels where its nearly on par with UK pub prices. But the shacks on the beaches are good value where 200 rupees buys a large bottle of Kingfisher. Anything alcohol imported has a huge tariff on it, I believe this was the same back in the 90's when I last went. I never buy locally made spirits, vodka etc, they are a bit too easy to make and I value my eyesight.
I didn’t go to the Jameson stand on Saturday at the Valley so did not sign up to anything, yet I get an email this morning from Jameson saying I'm a member of Jameson Connects. I unsubscribed.
It’s too much of a coincidence- Jameson must have got my details from cafc - a bit naughty them passing on my details for Jameson to then subscribe me without my consent.
Finishing the last of my Blanton’s gold tonight watching the NFL draft. Happy I’ve managed to make it last a few months as it’s quite the outlay. Will definitely buy again for special occasions.
Another one for you guys to try ... hey steady on there I'm talking about the drink!

Absolutely fantastic!
Just thought I'd go back to an old favourite tonight.....
€14.99 from Aldi!
:-)
Trying it next after the Bourbon runs out.
This baby turned up while I was watching the game tonight. Can't really say I noticed the second half.
Beautiful stuff!

Like nothing ever before it; reimagine whisky.
(It's about 80 quid).
