Is the correct answer. Love that film. Kung Fu Hustle, too.

But another vote for The Damned United and Slap Shot, which is propelled along by Maxine Nightingale's song Right Back Where You Started From.

I'm surprised - this thread has not descended into a competition to name the most obscure sports movie...

    Yet.

I'd never seen Moneyball but watched it last night after reading this. Really enjoyed it, so thanks!

Raging Bull is brilliant, as is Next Goal Wins.

I find Cool Runnings hilarious and my guilty pleasure is Happy Gilmore....

I thought Lesbian Locker Room 1 was better and they managed to get out in the end

I never understood the twist ending in Lesbian Locker Room 3, even though I've read the book.

Casino - it's a film about a chap who is good at betting on sports though to pad the story out a bit there's a load of other periphery stuff that goes on

Henry V - a film about an archery contest held in France. England won.

"Road" is really good, in case you've not seen it. Very emotional.
    Good call . Great film
I'm glad you both agree - very proud to be part of that one! :-)

    Bend it like Beckham

I quite like it. Maybe I wouldn't feel quite the same if it didn't have two pretty female leads though.

Goal. Never forget watching it at the cinema. The slow motion shots, the sound track, the strange disconnect between the pictures and the sound, the 1960s fashions. Just watching football in colour was a novelty!

There's a film about two Americans, a woman and a man, who travel round the world playing in "park" games. Ms AA doesn't like footie but she really enjoyed this film as it's much more about what it means to play the game than the actual football itself.

It's called Pelada (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1530953/) and it's the best sport film I've seen.
