That was my Dad's shop! 228 Blackfen Road, a few doors up from Ayres the Bakers. But I think the A2 E Rochester Way bypass knackered him, most of his customers being from the Falconwood side. I reckon the shop must have gone west early to mid 70s, as he was store managing at the RACS by then (Lewisham, Tooting, Eltham and Bexleyheath)floydroadfaithfull said:DaveMehmet said:Ones I can remember from the 70'/early 80's

There was a shop in Blackfen called San Fernando who used to sell a lot of different cheap kits that weren't quite current.

Yes it was. Just emailed him for the skinny. He opened it in Blackfen in early 1966, and him and Mum lived over the shop. They sold baby and children's wear up to age eleven, probably handy as me and my brother arrived in '67 and '69. Customer catchment grew to Welling, Bexley, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Swanley, Keston and beyond. All went well until work on the new Rochester Way Relief Road started in late '69 and access to their catchment area was cut in half, virtually overnight.DaveMehmet said:

When did it close
The business was sold as a going concern some time in 1970 and he thinks it was the new proprietors who turned to selling cheap football kits to boost their dwindling turnover.
Last time I passed through Blackfen the shop was a bridal boutique.
My only ever non-Charlton kit was the white adidas Man U away with three black vertical stripes down the left half. Albiston, Nichol, both Greenhoffs, Coppell Hill, Pearson etc. Still slightly ashamed, but there was a few of them around Eglinton Junior Mixed back then.
