A win would be a vary pleasant surprise with current first team squad.
If we don't have new players in tomorrow before midday who can play in the team the day after (seems pretty unlikely to me, Russell has not played signings immediately) a flukey win or a draw for me.
Hope to eat them though.
All except for their centre back,I'm wheat(er) intolerant
Bolton seem to be somewhat a bogey team for us in our recent history. Unfortunately I see 1-2.
To be fair I've just checked and Bolton havent beaten us since 2012... Seven games have been played since then and two of the four games at the Valley have ended in victory for Charlton (Last time Bolton won here was in 2005)
Damn just saw that Ben Amos had gone on loan to Cardiff City for the season and thought it bugger up Bolton's chances tomorrow against us but he's not been playing anyway as Mark Howard (ex-Sheff Utd) is their 'keeper now!!
Last week to me felt more comfortable than many of the reports have stated. So Bolton on a crest of a wave will be a good test. 100% records always come to an end at some point and I think we should be good for a draw. 2-2 and an exciting match as well....we hope.
Missing this to go with my Bolton-supporting mate to watch the Rugby League. He's Warrington and its a big deal apparently and somehow looked better when we agreed to it than this match. I've only seen us once this season so no idea which Charlton will turn up (1st half Northampton and it's 3 points heading north, 2nd half v Northampton and we have a chance). Bolton fans generally expect to lose at least as much as we do. And to be fair last season they lost more. Their run has to end sometime - why not tomorrow?
Just watching Burton albion on sky playing in the Championship Just sums up how well our club has been run over the last few years now we can look forward to the likes of Fleetwood. 0.2 Bolton
Phil Parkinson has had mixed news on the injury front for his attackers as he makes a return to his old club.
Max Clayton will remain out with a knee problem which may require him to go under the knife while Zach Clough is also struggling with a hamstring issue.
However, Jamie Proctor, who missed out against Fleetwood with a hamstring injury of his own, is set to return.
Defender Dorian Dervite (knee) is inching closer to a comeback yet captain Darren Pratley (fractured leg) is a long-term absentee.

They've won all their D1 games by one goal (1-0, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1) which isn't convincing and indicates their game plan may be to defend and hit teams on the break/score from set pieces. That will just invite in-form boys Holmes, Magennis and Ajose to attack them. 3-0 or 4-1 win for Charlton

Yeah they seem to play a 4-5-1 and hit teams on the break. That said, I don't think we'll do well against teams with 3 in central midfield or teams who are tough to break down until we get one, ideally two more midfielders in. When you look at a fair few of our goals this season, they've come either on the break or when the game is stretched/opens up a bit. With Beevers and Wheater at the back, I think Bolton can sit deep and pick their moments with ease.
The best thing that could happen for us would be to nick an early goal then sit back and make them come on to us, leaving space in behind.

If we just had the one in-form player attacking them then I agree they'd contain him. Two in-form players attacking them would be a handful to contain but they might manage it. Three in-form players attacking them will cause chaos in any team trying to play a defensive game. They can't put two or three players on each one. If they do then expect a Jackson hat-trick

I think it's less about the individual players are more about what they can do as a collective. What I suspect Bolton to do is deny service into the forwards, and double up on Holmes when he gets the ball with their extra man in midfield (or use their holding midfielder as a "sweeper" behind a midfield 4). As such, the way to get the ball to Mcgennis will be in the air, and Wheater and Beevers are no slouches. In games like that, it can be very hard for Ajose to get a foothold. When the game goes back to front, our aged midfield three of JJ, Crofts, and Foley really struggle to get into games. We saw that against Bury and Cheltenham. We don't yet have a midfielder comfotable of navigating tight spaces and picking of the killer pass or series of passes to open a packed midfield and defense.
Instead I expect us to have a lot of possession in the middle third but to struggle to get quality balls into the forwards, either into space or crosses from the wing. I'd love to be wrong obviously, I just think Bolton are exactly the kind of team we're going to struggle against this season with our current midfield.
Bolton have won all 4 games. However, they have been by one goal margins and have included games v the bottom 2. The highest placed team they have beaten is 12th.
