    Just for you Croydonian.

1st line: no crowd will turn up
2nd line: Think of a wedding with family and friends.
3rd Line: Roger swears a tad.

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has slammed the Premier League for rushing the start of the season, claiming that is what you get when football is run by people who have never played the game.
  • Just bought a adult ticket for the second leg of west ham's europa cup tie next thursday for the same price as it would be for our game v Southampton's kids.....think we need to look at our ticket prices !!!!

I keep hearing about having a winter break helping the England team, I just have no idea how that will actually be the case. Wales didn't seem to suffer from a lack of a winter break.

We all know what will happen if there was a winter break. The top clubs would jet off around the world playing some highly profitable matches in the US and the far east, and the players would get barely any additional rest (they may play a game or two less over that 2-3 week period, but they'll be travelling thousands of miles, doing dozens of public appearances, photo-ops, interviews, etc.).

If the FA had any balls they'd agree to a 2 week break, but only if no clubs play any games of any type during that period, and England players report to the FA for 2 days for team-building, non-physical coaching.

Surely it is The Premier league's call, not the FA.

    They have no jurisdiction.

Boycott unless the club promises to field our under 23's. Then I would be tempted.

Didn't we have at least 7 under 23 in the match day squad last week?

We could surely field a full u23 squad and charge £5 and get twice as many people out to see the championship stars of the future eh Katrien?

You could be right, but then I wonder why we don't have a winter break already. Top managers keep whinging about wanting one, and they wouldn't be doing that if their club's were against the idea, and the premier league is the clubs.

All I can think is the clubs don't want to give up christmas games revenue, and the TV companies have insisted they still happen. That means any winter break would have to happen after booking day (if the clubs/tv were willing to give up new years day fixtures). It would still then clash with the FA cup 3rd round, so maybe it is the FA that are causing the lack of winter break.

  • Just fancied going to their new stadium also i have wanted to go to a match as a neautral and have no emotional alligence to either side and enjoy a game for a change !!!!!!!!

How much is the fine? Surely there's enough teams against it to just tell the FA to fuck off.

I think I've only ever flagged one person but I confess to feeling tempted to issue a second in these circumstances...

Game should either be free or low ticket price (£2 to £5) with proceeds to Upbeats / Charlton Athletic Community Trust.

Wow. It makes you wonder how they can sell them that cheap. The expenses to open up a massive stadium like that - I don't know how they will cover all the costs.

Well that's about as equally pointless a fixture so fair enough. Plus you'll be surrounded by a load of complete c**ts.

It's not their stadium. It's all our stadium. I'm actually popping down there next week with a few mates for a kick about and a barbecue afterwards on the pitch.

See now if they did/allowed that to happen for all us taxpayers then fair enough they could use our stadium.
