Crawley play at the Check-A-Trade stadium. They have an annoying jingle starting with a whistle, which, when I went two years ago, was played after every single announcement including substitutions.

The football league's version of the champions league. The likes of Neymar and Messi will have to consider their options.

The Football League want to cut down on mid week games to help players, fans and the England team. To do this they proposed leagues of 20 including a new "League Three".
While the FL wait for that they've added to the number of mid week games by expanding what was the JPT.
Worth mentioning several top clubs declined the invitation to enter their u23s. So we had the excitement of possibly being drawn in a group with Reading or Brighton u23s. Unless the rules have changed if we start our own u23 team we'll be fined.

Boycott unless the club promises to field our under 23's. Then I would be tempted.
Can't. The rules prevent it. Must play (I think) at least 7 from previous Saturday's match day squad.
Besides that, why give Premiership scouts an easy opportunity to showcase our talented academy plays, which they can then sign for a pittance under the EPPP rules?
EPPP applies to players u17 ie those that have not signed a professional contract. If they're u23 they're almost certainly professionals.
Ideal scenario would be that no one attends this match to show that B teams are not wanted.
But then Charlton are penalised for a mistake made by the EFL...
Well they did vote for it
I think it was announced that Charlton were one of the clubs who voted against...
I apologise. Glad to hear we voted against, didn't see it at the time.
The whole thing has been such a farce and I think will be boycotted although probably from a "I don't want to see that" point of view rather than any kind of making a stand.
I bet this competition seemed a great idea after an evening of gins and tonic in the ivory towers of those who run the game.
I'm not sure that was the problem. From what I hear it was a fruitless and failed attempt to creep to the PL to keep them from doing something worse. Even the clubs that voted for it realise it's nonsense.
The sooner the money grabbing c*nts fuck it all up and the biggest teams in Europe piss off into a European Mega League, leaving sky high and dry, with the biggest teams left in the league as Everton and Southampton, the better IMO. To appease the big clubs and stop them forcing through having reserve and B teams in the lower leagues, we have this ridiculous competition that no-one wants, no-one needs and no-one cares about. And to cap it all off the biggest clubs then decline the opportunity to take part anyway

"The thinking behind the proposal is to ease the demands of the fixture list. A 20-team league would mean no midweek fixtures, which in turn would ease players' workloads to give them a greater turnaround between matches and reduce costs and travel demands for fans.
The Football League also believes more professionals playing - and with increased recovery time - could help England's national side."
Anyone have any idea how this plan is supposed to help the England team? How many England players play outside the top flight (which is already a 20 team league and already has some midweek fixtures)?
If they're that bothered about helping the national team, then a) scrap the league cup which no one really cares about now and b) have a 2-3 week winter break in January after the FA Cup 3rd round weekend. These (in my opinion) would both be better ideas than changing the league structure.
I keep hearing about having a winter break helping the England team, I just have no idea how that will actually be the case. Wales didn't seem to suffer from a lack of a winter break.
We all know what will happen if there was a winter break. The top clubs would jet off around the world playing some highly profitable matches in the US and the far east, and the players would get barely any additional rest (they may play a game or two less over that 2-3 week period, but they'll be travelling thousands of miles, doing dozens of public appearances, photo-ops, interviews, etc.).
If the FA had any balls they'd agree to a 2 week break, but only if no clubs play any games of any type during that period, and England players report to the FA for 2 days for team-building, non-physical coaching.

This if it happens it would start in 2019/20.
