From Hobden, who like Kedwell if he doesn’t make it with us won’t be through a lack of effort. Jones will like his attitude and the way he battles at the very least. He’s got that aggression to win the ball that younger players can sometimes lack.
Not a game to inspire. Pretty even in the first half. Maybe we just about deserved our lead. They came out more determined in the second half, we didn't up our game and ended up with what we deserved; nothing.
Of the three first-teamers in our side, Mitchell looked easily the best. Fought well and looked solid. At one point he nonchalantly kicked the ball into touch, hitting the roof of the Curbs Stand without even trying. Kanu was sadly injured before he got into his stride. The most noticeable thing about him was the size differential between his legs. I can only presume he's been weight training on one side only, because he genuinely had the look of a fiddler crab. Sadly Ahadme didn't do anything to suggested his absence from the first XI is an oversight. He tried and he suffered a couple of unlucky bounces of the ball early on, but I can't recall him ever getting the better of his man let alone having a shot on target. The longer the game went on the less he looked a part of it. Pat Casey (Kanu's replacement) looked our best forward, got a goal and had a terrific shot blocked.
Our best player was easily Alan Mwamba. He looked very good in midfield. Broke up play nicely and brought the ball forward with exceptional skill. Credit also needs to go to Mason Hunter who headed the ball off the line and Lennon MacLorg who made a string of saves at the end to keep the scoreline reasonable.
I don't know if Bournemouth had any 'names' in their side. The only player who I really noticed for them was Zane Okoro who was a bit like Tyreece Campbell, only with a hard accurate shot.
Kedwell is suspended for 2 games. The result of several needless fouls over the season to date.
I did wonder why he wasn’t involved. It was a chance for good chance for Gough to get some minutes after a few months out injured. He was the one I hadn’t seen much of - it’ll be interesting to see him at CB in future as I believe that’s where he usually plays.

was there with a Fulham supporting friend, he thought Gough was our player of the match. thought the presence of 3 senior first team players disrupted the U21 players usual game understanding. We seemed sluggish from the start. The best of the senior players was Alex Mitchel , Ahamade just seems to light weight and not sharp or proactive enough, he waits for the ball to come to him , McIntyre was anonymous .

Can see why they rated him as he was very steady, when he got the ball he usually tidy with it. He's one who might really shine over a run of games if he does it consistently, a bit like Godden's intelligence becomes more obvious the more you watch him.
Mwamba's impressed me a lot more recently than when I saw him earlier on in the season. His energy was always there, but he's protecting the ball better and keeping possession more. Reminds me of Jordan Cousins - gets about the pitch really well and decent with and at winning the ball, even if some teammates look a bit flashier/silkier with it at their feet.

yep I liked Mwamba today, hope he comes on further next season so he is at least flirting with the first team later in the next season.

Thought Gassam worked hard but was tightly marked and drew several fouls which got us up the pitch. After he came off we couldn't hold onto the ball when played out of defence, which helped Bournemouth dominate. On Dixon, yes he has scored a fair few goals and think his chance will only come pre season. No chance of playing as T C doing well at the moment. There is stuff he will need to improve on if he is to get near first team, but there is no doubt that there is talent in him.
🔢 Here’s how our U21s line-up in this afternoon’s PDL2 fixture against Swansea City: MacLorg; Toure, Hunter (c), Laqeretabua; Brown, Mwamba, Kedwell, Wales, Fullah; Casey, Huke
Subs: Woodham, Gough, Safa, Reid, McMillan
#cafc
Looks like Ethan Brown at RWB, he’s a second year u18 who’s had a few sub appearances for the u21s. Good chance for him and Wales, both will be hoping to earn their first pro contracts.
Ellis McMillan is on the bench, a first year u18 who’s one of our top scorers at that level. More of an attacking midfielder than out and out striker I believe.
Dixon presumably still with Jamaica and Enslin with the first team. Bower is missing too, injured perhaps?

Hope Kanu is OK.
