What’s the view on Huke? I’m not able to watch today but the games I’ve seen I’ve been reasonably impressed.
Good on the ball, gets in the box and scores goals. Often simple finishes which shows his goalscoring instinct and requires the energy to keep making those runs.
The questions for me would be around whether he has the physicality, fitness and all round game to make the step up to the first team. Not saying he doesn’t, but the first team is a big step up in those areas.

Positioning and instinct are hard to teach though, get himself in the gym over the summer like TC and maybe there's a chance
From what I saw of the game, I was impressed by Dixon's tackling back. I imagine that's something which has been drilled into him since he came over, and suggests he'd be less of a "luxury" player than I was expecting.
A fortunate win , I am pleased to say. But our 21's not at there best. Actual thought the best player on the pitch was Millwalls number 4.
Not the way I saw it.
In the2nd half, our pulled off a good save pushing the ball over the bar, some blocked a shot that was going in and toward the end they put ball across the face of goal. I have no idea how it did not end up in the net.
Thought it was pretty even (boringly even) until we scored. They had quite a few attempts on goal after that, giving the familiar feeling that they might snatch it from us. One brilliant save, one clearance off the line and a hatful of wild shots later and we ended the game unscathed. Thought we looked better in possession with some decent passing, but they looked more direct in attack. Not sure if it was frustration but some of their shooting was woeful. A more composed team would have beaten us, but seeing as they weren't composed, we can rightfully say that we deserved the win.

So how does the "system" work from here? How does he get a loan out to get experience or does he wait for a chance in the funny cup games next season?

If you look back at my comments on viewing his games before he signed for us, his press and chasing back was a positive attribute.
Alex Mitchell marshalled the last half hour very well. Kept on telling everyone to keep calm and slowing things down by delaying throw ins etc.
Dixon is getting stronger. They are obviously working on his leg muscles. Covered much of the pitch but didn't get a shot on target. He would still struggle in the first team at the moment. He is in the right place at the moment while he develops.
Just back from sunny but cold Princes Park, the most competitive u21 match i've seen for a long time. Methven, Nathan & Lloyd Jones all in attendance. A draw might have been a fair result but who cares we won. Our defence played very well & reduced Millwall's attack to very few chances. Alex Mitchell marshalled the defence very well & you could tell he really wanted to win that game. There was a very heated exchange between Chis Solly & Kevin Nugent respective managers of both teams, no sign of Chris Lock. It was good to see a larger crowd at the game & it's a pity that more of the 'work at home brigade' couldn't make it [too busy posting on this thread, https://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/89215/working-from-home-how-s-it-going/p ] by the look of it.

Nugent was probably boasting about his managerial spell with us (7 points in 3 games)
I don’t watch this level very often and I was little disappointed we weren’t better given we had Watson, Mitchell, McIntyre. Kanu who are all more senior than this. A fairly even and uneventful first half, pace of game much improved 2nd half. Millwall really raised it after we scored and we done well to close out a very competitive game.
Changed sides at HT from seats to standing and I’ve never been to a game where I was so cold first half and nice and warm 2nd half. Roll on the sunshine, you’ve been greatly missed.
Good to bump into @Stig after a few years for a chat.

I felt the same when seeing Edun and Watson in a recent game - I expect many first team players don’t play at their full intensity in these matches. They stand out with their strength and experience at times, but don’t always look as dominating as you might expect.
Giving first team ‘fringe’ players a game seems the right call to me. The result was good, but the usual fluency wasn’t there. Any fresh takes on Harvey Kedwell from newish watchers?
HK has no obvious skills in the few games I've seen him play. Workmanlike. Enslin is the new protegé for the 1st team. Pace, physicality, decent passing, shots and inrelligence. And a leftie.

Gritty game, not as lovely as they usually are.
Our lads did what they had to do with loads of enthusiasm & bravery at times.
Just love watching these young 'uns.
Well done lads.

Unfortunately the set up is that Dartford receive the money from the gate.
