  • Very inexperienced looking side. Are there any other youth games coming up that players have been rested for?
Under 18's played yesterday, and are playing again at the weekend. Under 21s are playing every 3 or 4 days now till the end of the season, including the London Senior Cup. Surprised we haven't put in a couple of the more experienced loans today that aren't playing to help out, but maybe the coaches think it's a better experience for players that are going to be here next year to get that game time instead.

NJ isn't exactly forthcoming about injuries, but didn't seem to suggest we had many actually out at the moment, so strange that 1 or more of the senior pros didn't play some minutes, the likes of Jones, Ness and Taylor for example.

    At the Valley.
    No Casey or Mbick.
No loaners playing or any previous first teamers beyond Aimee really.
Casey was concussed in the under 18s game at Barnsley last Saturday. M'Bick played for the under 18s yesterday.

Under 18s played Saturday and yesterday. Won both games. Next game on Saturday.
  • Charlie Methven came out to sit in the front row of the director's box for a short while during the game. I don't think he was impressed with the performance.
  • Are the U21s REALLY playing at Burnley tomorrow ( Sunday 14th April) with ko at 1pm ?

Or is this another error under the " Matches" link on the OS ?

Doesn't seem to be. Only text updates on both Burney and our academy Twitter pages.
  • Molyneux; Cann, Toure, Dench; Okwumo, Gough (c), Hand, Enslin; Huke, Ladapo, Fullah

     Subs: Adegoke, Safa, Ogunnowo

Thanks. That's all I can find sadly.

  • FT 2 - 0
  • Why were we playing a team in the North section?
  • Why were we playing a team in the North section?
Each team plays the teams in their region twice (Home & Away), and teams from the other region once.

Thanks. Seems a bit weird to not just play the teams in your own section!
  • Been out.
    Anybody know what happened?

I attended the game this afternoon at the QPR training ground in Hounslow, fairly close to Heathrow Airport.
It was a game very similar to the recent home defeat against Barnsley, with us playing a lone striker who was getting very little service.
The pitch was in perfect condition but the game was played in very windy conditions which seemed to play a part in QPR'S first goal with our goalkeeper Molyneux beaten by long distant shot which sailed over him but then dipped into the net, Molyneux possibly should have done better when a low shot seemed to go under him for QPR's third goal, the other two goals were from penalties.
Louie Watson tried hard to create chances but very little came off for him, Fiorini had a very quiet game & Ness was substituted after an hour.
The next u21 game is at 'The Valley' on Monday [22.4.24-14.00 KO] against Sheffield United, lets hope for a better performance & result.
Is this Molyneux dodgy enough for the first team though?

    That is the question.
  • Watson and Fiorini both playing seems weird, after they'd not featured for a few weeks. Two wasted loan signings, for all parties.

Not yet. He's not 19 yet, so still has a lot to learn before he'll be that dodgy.

Too early for him to be thrown to the Wolves...
