And now the team is, as you say, so poor we need to support them. There are decent players who need confidence instilled. Ajose and Novak will score goals. Johnson will soon be not required. We will bolster midfield by the weekend.

39 years following Charlton and never have I felt so despondent about the future of my club. RD and KM have between them torn the heart from within the club and alienated the vast majority of the fan base. I understand that RD is a successful businessman and so he must understand that running a business that offends the "customers" is not a successful model. I am not a customer, I am a fan. He has bought an English football club that are one tier below the financial promised land of the Premier League. As a business man surely you look at creating a plan that aims towards this. The alternative we are being given is a plan to take us to League One and a huge loss in all revenue. No one benefits. However, there is hope in that there are equally poor teams in the bottom 5 not winning games. And most frustratingly we have players who have ability and you don't lose ability. They have the ability to play our way out of the relegation places but it is now a confidence thing. This has been ripped from them by a succession of inadequate and inept coaching teams who do not understand the English Championship. RD needs to sell while CAFC is still a viable business. RD needs to sell so I can have my Charlton back
whats your views now, since it has got a lot worse?
We have been shit before but with owners who cared they might have messed up but they cared. Was planning on going on a match by match basis and plenty of away days but at the moment can't see me attending any games and I have never felt like that in 45 years of supporting Charlton
I hope we win on Saturday, but it's going to need a bit more than the fans having a tally Ho attitutude, it's about proper decisions being made at boardroom level, not getting shot of 3 goalkeepers in a week, not bringing in your main keeper a week before the season starts, however good he is, he's already starting the season at a disadvantage, we should have had a strong squad up and running through the preseason's not cobbled together after the season has started, the planning is simply awful and amateurish.
Don't really care whether the team win or not any more! The club probably need to go out of the league before RD will leave so bring it on! There's no point in delaying it.
This club is about it's supporters - not the team!
It was indeed too easy for Roger Johnson to criticise the fans, and too easy for Slade to get arsey with a journalist.
This. Charlton fans...for some reason are not respected enough, in general. Why is this? We get so many dick heads having a go at our fans. Even going way back over 10 years ago, stupid people in the media slagging off Charlton fans that thought curbs had taken the club as far as it could go. (Perhaps not really relevant and just like to point out I thought curbs was great)
I also believe RD maybe thought it was a club where he could (not literally) get away with murder, or be able to see the fans as an irrelevance that won't conflict with his annoyingly stupid experimenting weird unusual pathetic depressing pointless methods.
WE are supposed to give THEM confidence are we? No. THEY are supposed to give US goals and points...lots of them. They can source their confidence elsewhere, not continue to parasite off us for it.
I always thought that fans and players efforts go hand in hand. A silent ground is a shit embarrassing one and it does nothing to help anyone. You should be proud of your club and together, song for them. Always thought it's better to be behind the players. Not now, no, never. The players need to give the support a reason to be uplifted.
Where a big club in the wrong league. They and everyone else at Charlton have let the fans down and even taken the complete piss out of them in a lot of ways.
The club owns the fans big time!!! Unfortunately that justice won't happen within this regime.
A lot of people that work at the club are a load of thin skinned morons that get wound up when other people aren't happy and thinking that the sun shines out of everything's ass all things Charlton, even when we lose to cheltenham....everything's great!!!whatbyou moaning about now....huuuuuh, ya c*nt.
And now the team is, as you say, so poor we need to support them. There are decent players who need confidence instilled. Ajose and Novak will score goals. Johnson will soon be not required. We will bolster midfield by the weekend.
Divided ..... We will fall
So you're basically saying we should carry on like the clubs not going down the shitter and bury our heads in the sand? Meanwhile the Belgian cun*s do whatever they like because the stupid fans will carry on supporting the club out of some weird blind loyalty.
Negative, pessimistic, etc. Discussion and argument about whether to boycott games, get "free" tickets, demonstrate outside the stadium. We have lost 2 games, failed to score in both. We need to turn it around on Saturday and need our own fans to be fully behind the team and management. There was full backing to Slade's appointment in the summer and we need to maintain this and support him with a squad clearly lacking depth. Is this the fault of RD and KM? Do we know? There is rumour and second guessing but we support through the bad times. Been there, done that in the 80's. It is all too easy to criticise.
Are you Roger Johnson? You have very similar opinions.

My views then were and are correct. We are in League One. RD and KM would do us all well if they sold up and left. But this does not stop me from supporting the team as I have done so for the previous 39 seasons and wanting them to succeed whoever is in charge.

Fair enough but not what you said in your first post
" Is this the fault of RD and KM? Do we know? There is rumour and second guessing but we support through the bad times. Been there, done that in the 80's. It is all too easy to criticise."
You then went on to attack other fans by saying that they could go to West Ham.
If you want to say "support the team, not the regime" them fine. That's a slogan of the protesters and has been for some time.

Goalkeeper, defence and attack are okay for this league. The static midfield needs urgently to be improved, do that and at least we should be competitive.

Everyone has their own greatest memories and that's why they want their Charlton back and why we all WANT OUR CHARLTON BACK.
And I agree with losing a generation again. My 8 year old daughter has stopped coming now. The last time she came was Rotherham home this season as I was expecting get Young Reds photo to be in the programme and/or the Screen as per the request from the club to send in details for this. Surprise surprise neither happened leaving one very disappointed young girl. In her own way she has made her feelings clear.
So what is your response to your 8 year old daughter then, Steve? You're going like it or not. It's all too easy to criticise. You need to maintain your support. You need to turn it around on Saturday and get fully behind the team and the management.
I've got to say, from what you've said she seems to have a far better grip of the situation than you.
Steve are you serious in urging fans to "get fully behind the team and the management." RD, Nightmeire, Testicles Tony and Murray? Righto! I'll pop down and renew my season ticket to show my support for those four. Or at least I will just as soon as my medicine arrives. NURSE, WHERE ARE YOU???
Steve I take your point about getting behind the team. I was glad to hear of CARD's moratorium on protests 'in game' during August as I didn't want the new blood to be exposed to such an atmosphere straight away, when it's nothing to do with them, they are coming here to do a job.
However, our fans do get behind the team. We do that regardless. I was doing it last night as best I could before I saw Jackson flailing about on his arse as the came passed him by. It's not the fans that need to get behind the team, it's the owners. For all that wank about learning from their mistakes, they have left us woefully inadequate to compete for promotion, yet again. What the fans do is irrelevant. Regardless of how much 'valley floyd rd' you hear or how many of us turn up, our cancer of an owner hasn't
You can't expect people to just put the past 2, almost 3 years of mal treatment to one side and rally round the troops anymore than they already are.
RD is the man you need to issue your rallying cry too. Tell him to 'get behind the team'

You may not support them and acknowledge they are a pair of clown shoes, but in their idiotic minds they will think you are behind them.
There is nothing more glaringly obvious for failure than an empty ground. We have to vote with our feet.
