I used to drink with Jim in the Antigallican in the 70's - and he was Charlton then.

as i said was a family friend that was telling personally i wasn't having it, but ive heard it a couple of times.
90% of the hate of JD on here is the usual Guardianista bollox, cant say i have ever found him to be funny but one thing he isnt is a "plastic fan" he has been going down The valley longer than some of you right on knobs have been born---had a box for a few years down there as well. When you struggle to name any famous fans that actually want to be linked with us remember he doea
I've had plenty of digs at JD in the past on here, not about his comedy styles but the frustrating 'Bournemouth' period (he was a director there, at a time when we needed all the friends/profile we could get).
But that's in the past I guess and his statement today is pretty fair and like others I don't feel he necessarily should have jumped earlier. Many of us are still sitting on the fence in the (forlorn) hope that KM at least jumps first.
Does'nt matter when he got off the RD/KM love train, the fact he has is good enough for me. He has spent alot of money like the rest of us and no longer wants to give it to the regime.

Do you get paid for every time you mention The Guardian ?

He's been following them as long as I have, and I started in 1963.
There was a time a few years back when I noticed that his stand up tour dates were set out so that he could do Charlton away games alongside his tour. He is as Charlton as they come.

He went to my school. He's Charlton.
And there I was under the impression that your moniker meant you'd probably gone to Shooters Hill Grammar School.

St Austins those were the days ..
My old man went there.
We've got more important things to worry about than a 'What school did you go to' thread!!
I think everyone has reacted to this regime at different speeds. I wouldn't criticise anyone for taking a different time to someone else. It's not just about tolerance levels and how reactive you are. Everyone on here wants Charlton do well. Many have invested a lot of money, time and effort and made the club a big part of their life. Turning on the Club is difficult and I doubt that few people feel 100% comfortable about their different level of actions. However, it doesn't change the fact that the vast majority know that this regime is wrong. There may be a little optimism again if 3 or 4 good players come in, but just as I have some discomfort about turning against the club, I will have far greater discomfort about this regime for as long as they remain.
This is so true. I can think of no one that does not agree that our current owners are wrong for the club, including some obvious people who may appear to be supporters of the regime.

To be fair a lot has happened in the last 8 months
I would have renewed 8 months ago, well the day before Colchester anyway
That was the week that was, 0-5 at Udders midweek followed by 0-6 at Hull on the Saturday and I had the displeasure of seeing every one of those goals hit the back of our net.

Obviously a scurrilous rumour put about by those jealous of the celebrities we attract to Charlton.

What a school. I learned fuck all there.
A fact you ably disprove over and over again every time you post on Charlton Life!
I knew JD when we went down Samuel Montague's in the late sixties and early seventies and he was ALWAYS Charlton which was about the only thing we had in common but he is a red through and through.
