Yes I meant the Leeds Alan Smith - good player, but didn't score enough goals. Tataabat was very talented, but apparently his attitude was absolutely woeful, the last I heard he was at AC Milan??
He's apparently at Benefica now, but hasn't played for the first team. He was at AC Milan a couple years ago and did alright there apparently. But yeah, his attitude and fitness were awful apparently.
Fact is he holds my most memorable moment of football played at the valley since they took over and that was defending the ball in a corner to waste time, who would you prefer to watch Lee Novak??? Most talented player bar none, since they took over, only player that when he got the ball everyone stood up
Well I did say he does the most damage in the centre circle but I did forget he was quite so good in the quadrant! Only area he doesn't do it is the most important one of all for a forward - and when all is said and done that is what he is meant to be not some deep lying libero.
One goal and no assists in 14 matches this season and 11 goals in 68 appearances for his last four Clubs is of Churchino proportions. Actually it's not as even Church managed 6 goals and 2 assists from 13 appearances in the SPL last season - and I think we are all united as to his abilities!
"Talent" to do drag backs, keepy uppies, Cryuff turns is one thing but when there is no end product and it leads the team down blind alleys then that is a waste of talent. And that probably is what Watt is - a wasted talent.
Fact is he's not as good as he, or many people on here, thinks he is.
But still better than what we have and easily good enough for League One - especially for a side that is going to gain promotion 'at the earliest opportunity.'

Fact is, as he and many on here know, he's still better than anything we had last season.
I think Watt has peaked and is on the decline. Not a good enough passer to be a number 10, doesn't work hard enough to be a winger, doesn't score enough and isn't positionally disciplined enough to be a center forward.
He's technically gifted at football, but I wouldn't say he's a good footballer if that makes sense.
Absolutely it makes sense.
No one can doubt his ability with a football.
But ..... there's often poor decision making on the ball, reluctance or unawareness of bringing team mates into the game - and an apparent 'look at me' desire to be the star of the show. His attitude has come across as very hit & miss and he's rarely shown himself to be a teamplayer.
Football is a game played inside the head as much as with the ball. It's not too late for Tony - but until he gets that right, he's never going to fulfill the potential that his ability with a ball suggests.
Good opportunity for Charlton to swap Watt for Walker in the transfer window. Walker is an excellent winger who scores goals. Probably too sensible for the current regime to even consider.

or Paterson who is out of contract in the summer, can play RB, RW and up front. what with solly out again would be a great signing IMHO
Watt was an unused sub in last night's win over Rangers. Probably glad that the manager has left and will now and will now no doubt turn it on for the new manager - for the first few games anyway.

he might not be that lucky, if you watch the last 2/3 games you would be daft to break up Johnsen and Djoum up top.
