the sort of platitudes everyone was waffling about Yassin Moutaouakil when he arrived and left us , just another load of junk passing through the joke of a club that we have become

Naby will go to the second division in France, playing alongside people who speak his first language, in a less physical league than the Championship, and hopefully get a lot of gametime and therefore confidence.
Remember, he scored for us against Palarse so he's got something going for him.
We will probably not see him again, but I reckon he'll carve out a half decent career for himself
Let's be clear I'm not suggesting that Naby is the next Beckenbauer, Rufus or even Harry Lennon but was Slade consulted about this?
In general 'managers' like to evaluate a squad for themselves and then buy / sell according to their perceptions and preferences.
The departures of Naby and Igor, along with the almost certainly shortly to be announced JBG and Jordan Cousins, suggest to me that Slade is being given players and told to get on with it just like his predecessors.
In other words little or nothing has changed in reality.

Reckon he's at last chance salon...
Started out at a big club (Sporting) ... Dropped down a level (Charlton) which didnt work, and has now dropped down a further level (i.e. Andy Delort scored plenty of goals in Ligue 2 but nothing in the Championship) - If it doesnt work out for him @ Red Star he'll just slowly slip further and further down.

Hopefully you are right about never seeing him again, as for him carving out a half decent career for himself it certainly won't be as a footballer the bloke is a complete waste of space and whoever thought he was worth spending £1.5 million on needs to take no further part in looking for players. I have seen more talent in kids playing park football than Sarr possessed in either foot........good riddance !!!

Except, Len ........ then Cardiff manager Russell Slade actually saw Naby Sarr play for Charlton when we lost 2-1 at Cardiff last season.
No doubt, as Charlton manager, he's already watched for himself player performances on last season's match videos. And surely discussed with 1st team coach Simon Clarke the reasons Sarr never played under Riga?
I do agree though, Slade has been told which top earning players must go for financial reasons. And Sarr, hasn't even been selected since January.

Slade will have noted that Riga only shored up the defence by signing several new defenders, including 2 new CBs (Tex and Fanni)
I thought Sart was fairly typical of young centre backs these days....not so good defensively but very good on the ball (his passing was pretty accurate). If he can bring more aggression to his game then he could still have a decent future for someone.
As for the Riga alterations to our back four, Motta was also introduced. I thought we played ok when he played because he got us on the front foot a bit more and allowed JBG to play higher up the pitch. Plus Fanni was a natural covering player behind them and read the game really well.

It's definitely possible. Or they may have said these are players we just can't realistically afford to pay in League One.
Has all the attributes to be a very good defender, just needs the right coaching so that he makes the right decisions more.
Agreed, and to play regularly. Came through the Lyon academy with half of their current first team, stared at the Toulon Tournament along players currently in the French national side, and was bought by Sporting. There is a player in there, but he needs coaching and to be playing regularly in the right atmosphere. Think this could be a shrewd bit of business as it will allow him to play in a country he's familiar with, hopefully regularly, and could help him rediscover his form and confidence.
The amount of stick he gets is at time ridiculous.
He looked promising as a young player, but then so did Luke Chadwick. Young players who start high but aren't good enough slide down to their level and I feel Sarr is a slider. I hear a lot that there's 'a player in there' but until I actually see a player perform at the required level consistently it's just words. Apparently everyone has a novel in them too.

Front and centre in Red Star FC's kit reveal, which included another familiar face in Hameur Bouazza
The look of a guy pretending to be a pro footballer and getting away with it
So if you were a footballer but not good enough for the level in Portugal that your club is at & somebody approached you & said come & play in the English Championship & here's a 5 year contract at double your previous salary would you turn around & say "well actually I'm not that good & it would be a waste of your money so thanks but no thanks"? Don't blame Naby or any of the others not good enough for this level, blame the fucking idiots who bought them !!!!

I don't blame him. I'm simply making the point that he's not very good but keeps getting moves, which I think is lucky and in that particular photo he looks like he can't believe his luck either.

Watched a few games of his in our relegation season of 2007, and he genuinely couldn't have given less of a shit.
However my initial points on his level of application, remain equally valid!
