My daughter is revising for a physics exam tomorrow so I got taken out for a Chinese on Friday night. Went out in the MG for a run to Otford before they got up this morning and they’d got coffee and croissants ready when I got home. Other than a bit of gardening, I’ve been told I can sit in the sun reading my classic car mags like a nerd (their words, not mine) all day.
Littlen has gone to a party and mrs is feeling rough. Made me own breakfast, got given the gift i purchased, made everyone's lunch for when the in-laws arrive, done the hoovering, mopped the kitchen and watered the garden.
My youngest is in a hyper phase of his Phelan McDermid Syndrome. Think his medication dosage needs upping as he finally fell asleep at 0330 this morning and was up again an hour later. Hanging.
My eldest came around with an M&S peanut butter chocolate bar, which is helping.
My daughter sent me a WhatsApp………… We know you’ve got a lot going on at the moment so just to say we loves ya xx tipped me over the edge, going out in the garden to have some me time.

I'd pop to the shed incase neighbours are looking.
Eldest is recovering from a day and nighter and still in Birmingham having watched the cricket yesterday, youngest is about to tee off on a golf course he's never played before and the wife is meeting her sister-in-law in Bluewater. Never let it be said that they know when not to get in the way between me and Charlton Life.
Seeing my youngest later - all out for a Ruby. Eldest sent me a balloon and a bottle of Dalmore Also expect to be presented with the best possible Father's Day gift later today (likely) or perhaps tomorrow - a new granddaughter.

That’s the sort of thing we @DaveMehmet would suggest 😉
Last week my daughter planned a big lamb (leg that we bought 🙄) roast dinner that she was going to cook at ours which I thought was nice. On Friday she announced that it will be too hot on Sunday for a roast so suggested we had a BBQ instead, another lovely thought, we had to provide the meat and now I am cooking. What a turnaround, not quite sure how her nice gesture turned into me getting mugged off!!. I do it I guess because I love having the both the kids (25 & 28) round.
I became a dad for the first (and only) time at the ripe old age of 51! My daughter is 20 tomorrow and she's cooked me a Sunday lunch...really don't know where 20 years have gone...not always been plain sailing but wouldn't change a thing (except maybe having children earlier!).
A few years ago my daughters agreed to come with me to a game. That made me so happy, as I hadn't had many opportunities to go due to work etc, it gave me an opportunity to reconnect, my 22 has been a lot more over the last three years, respite living in Exeter (uni) and now Liverpool (work). She loves her blue bucket hat and wears it proudly.
Today they gave me a voucher to repeat the three of us going to a game. As they get further away from depending on me I cherish the time we spend together more than anything, especially reading that other thread this morning. Hug your kids no matter their age.
Book voucher, which I’ll happily spend. Little walk up in Malham this afternoon and now home for my son’s choice of popcorn, hot chocolates and Rise of Skywalker. Can’t complain.

Pulled out of the curry - we have our grandson with us. Son and his wife at the hospital so any time soon I hope.
