On a bad year he was still comfortably our best attacking threat, one of few signings I will miss. I think he is suited to playing on a better team and should easily step up wherever
As others have said he could get into a premier league team. He'll just be another player on match of the day who you think to yourself if only I kept up with the training I could easily of got into West broms side.
Utter bollox --- the guy didn't give a fuck and was saving himself for the Euros. Yes he had the ability to be a Prem player but was only playing at 60% the vast majority of the season--- towards the end he had to put more effort in for two reasons. One to make sure he gets selected for Iceland and the second was to make sure he is in the shop window. Fuck all to do with CAFC
I'll miss him, think he has a quality we're unlikely to see again for quite some time. He was pretty heavily scouted when we got him and it was rumoured to be a bit of a coup. I'm looking forward to watching him and Iceland this summer.
Nahhhh statistics don't tell the story his body language for a huge part of this season was utter shit.
Cheerio JBG good luck in the Euros it ain't been that emotional
Cannot understand for one minute why his body language would have been utter shit. Playing with those useless bastards around him for a variety of crap managers and losing every week at a club slowly sinking for many reasons. You would have thought he would have been smiling and enjoying himself.
Very good player but I personally couldn't warm to him. Agree with Goonerhater that at times this season his attitude and body language stank. Never thought he played for the shirt, only for himself.
Never quite been sold on him but I'm sure there aren't many who will be glad to see him leave - we certainly ain't going to be getting anyone better. At the end of the day, he's our top scorer and top assist maker this year. Same as last year. You can't argue with that. If he hasn't pulled his weight then what the fuck have the others done?
Said it many times before, if this is him at '60%' or him 'not caring' and 'going missing' then he can play in the Premier League easily if he 'gave it his all' every week.
He's been our best player over the past 2 seasons and if it was Callum Harriott posting these stats he would have won POTY at a canter
Johann favourited and quickly unfavourited a tweet of mine slagging off the recruitment and the team he has around him compared to how good he is. I do genuinely feel sorry for him, he's as much as a victim as us, except he's at least been paid. Probably not much compensation for him seeing as he's basically missed a year of development and probably won't be at his best at the Euros. Wish him the best of luck at the euros and wherever we ends up. Would love to see him in the prem somewhere, providing it's not Palace.
JBG leading the entire divisions assist leader board and doing so whilst playing for this Charlton side says a lot. We won't be signing a player of his quality again for quite a while.

He'll go to Sheffield Wednesday, call Sheffield Wednesday the best club he has ever played for and all of a sudden he will be one of the least talented players to ever wear a charlton shirt...
He was sold a dream, that's why he came here - he wanted to come to a team with a history of PL and a realistic chance of it, the picture painted by our owners & CEO was a false one. Being friends with his brother, who showed me an interview he had with an Icelandic news outlet and he's a goner. Shame - he'll be OK in the Prem, every winger goes missing every other game or so and he done more than enough considering the rubbish scattered around him let alone the nonsense behind the scenes.
Yes, I think its fair to say he was lied to regarding the club's ambition before he signed his new contract.
I don't blame him for wanting out of Charlton as soon as possible. Duchatelet will sell him and consider the whole thing a success
Pretty shameless whoring himself out like this before the season is even over.
Sorry but where has he 'whored himself out'? It reads to me that he has been asked a question and has tried to dodge giving an answer that would upset people.

Agree he's a good player but he's no Robert Lee or Johnny Robinson!!
I'll certainly be giving him a farewell clap on Saturday, would love it he ,and some of the other players threw their shirts into the crowd at the end of the game , revealing CARD t shirts underneath.
A very talented player and one of the very best we've had since our relegation from the Premier League.
He has certainly looked demotivated and crestfallen for much of this season and his attitude, at times, has not been 100%. In mitigation, however, he was probably sold a pup last summer and I don't suppose being 'coached' by an amateur from the Belgian regional third division did much for his morale either. In reality, it was a bit insulting for a player at his level (and, indeed, for many others in the squad).
If Johan starts for Iceland and does well, I suspect he'll get a decent move to Europe; otherwise, I expect he'll be snapped up by one of the bigger Championship clubs. I wish him well.

He will be sorely missed, one of the best players we've had not to play in the top flight with us
'History'
If you were an ambitious international, with your career ahead of you, would you seriously consider staying at CAFC?
Not sure that the bloke could have done much more over his time at the Valley.
Said the most successful interim head coach ever.
Believe in fraeye. When we are relegated it's very important we still smile.

As others have said i think he was being played with knocks and wasnt able to be rested fully.
Didn't look as good as last year, but the whole squad has looked a shambles in all fairness.
Got more vocal grief from me than he deserved this season. Sorry Johan.
I think my son's vote for JBG was, looking back over the season, a good call.
