I like Riga but he is not the man to get us out of League 1........we've had our fair share of jonny foreigner & now need a British manager, ideally one with experience of League one
charming bloke but I feel that he probably shouldn't get the job for next season, as soon as this season is over get in an experienced manager used to the lower leagues and has a solid record and give him a whole pre-season with whoever he wants

It sounds like Jose Riga is on the way out. There seems to be a tacit recognition of the fact that the existence of an 18 month contract is largely irrelevant - certainly with this regime - and I can't see him obtaining any meaningful assurances from Roland regarding next season. I also wonder if Jose really has the stomach for what awaits us next season. I somehow doubt it.

Warnock has performed the kind of miracle that we needed here, but the set up at Rotherham was totally different to here and I doubt if Warnock would have tolerated more than a few weeks working under these clowns. If we list the things we dont like about this regime one of them is that they keep changing the manager.So why does anyone think that changing the manager now is a good thing .It doesnt make sense.

The problem Riga or any incoming manager will have is, players coming and goods players leaving are relatively easy to sort out. Its the players on nice long contracts that are not up to job who should be dumped will be the problem.

I said at the time of Riga's appointment that he was the best of the coaching pool that we would be fishing in, basically Roland's speed dial list, but I wasn't convinced he was the man for the job in front of us. RD/KM have shown zero indication they learn from past cock ups and I am 90% sure, if they are still here, in August we will the Serbian bloke in the dug out.
Riga took over a totally demoralised squad and turned it round. Looking at just point totals is a little unfair. Individual performances have improved and we have been playing quite well. If he had taken over when Luzon was sacked I am sure we would have made it. I do not class him as just another lacky. He obviously played hardball when he came back and looking back at his first stint, he refused to play the players that SCP got sacked for not playing. I read into his statement that he will only take on the job if the board admitted it's mistakes and changed. I guess for him it would be his own backroom team and backing him on players he wants to keep and buy. I wish him luck with that.
