  • Usyk did the business, both of those fighters last night have a big future but the pedigree of boxing nous Usyk demostrated with his movement and scoring shots was impressive.

    Total undisputed cruiserweight champion

In another ere I could see him challenging at heavyweight but today it is the land of the giants.
Can see him staying champion at cruiserweight for a long time.

And then calls out bellew , I am a big tony B fan but that’s a fight I can’t see him winning, losing by as big a margin as Liam smith lost by last night atleast

Yeah I agree, Haye could do it in his prime as he was so heavy handed and fast which was a bit of a leveller. Saying that, Holyfield wasnt an enormous puncher and wasnt the biggest and he did pretty well. I dont think there is anything wrong with reigning at cruiserweight, it's a weight that throws up some great bouts
  • Groves v Smith will be fought in....Saudi Arabia

Could have understood Dubai, but Saudi Arabia is a very poor choice imo

Interesting also that the 168 final, Groves vs Smith will be early September but most likely not in the UK.

Not confirmed where yet but guess it will be in the States? Can't think of anywhere else it would go.

Doesn't make much sense to me. Huge domestic bout but neither have a big enough following abroad to warrant not having it in the UK.
    Saudi Arabia latest rumours.

The cruiserweight final was originally made for Jeddah before being rearranged for Russia. So maybe they still have the venue etc in place for a final, albeit a different weight.
Looks like a done deal now.

I am a big fan of kal and nisse as people and what they are trying to do but thats a shit call

Doubt they'll have them unless they're fully clothed. They held a WWE event at the same arena a few months ago and WWE had to agree that no female wrestlers would take part.
They even had to apologise when an advert appeared on the big screens showing women wrestlers.
  • Whats the verdict weekend lads ? Dillon Whyte to win via points? Any decent fights on the undercard?

I'm amazed Kalle wants to hold it out there, no way he'll be able to get up to his usual tricks
  • Saudis put in a fair amount of investment into the tournament apparently.
Not sure how? Maybe they paid a rights fee to host a final?
  • Still sticking with Parker on points, reckon it will be a decent fight though... Both have everything to gain
  • Whats the verdict weekend lads ? Dillon Whyte to win via points? Any decent fights on the undercard?

I'm going for a Whyte KO, I think Parker needs to prove himself with a big win to have any hope of a rematch with AJ and will therefore leave himself exposed.

Looking forward to both the Benn and Buatsi fights on the undercard.

The weigh-in is on Friday at Spitalfields, so I'm going to pop out of the office and try and catch some of the circus.
  • Undergrad for whyte Parker is shocking probably worst PPV undergrad since bellew cleverly 2. I wanted to buy fight but am shocked at undercard.

A washed up chisora v Takam could be awful technically.
Webb v Dave Allen. Allen stated he was retiring last week and will be about 20 stone
Been v French knockover job who he aehubaly lost to before
Women's title fight that no-one cares about
Is Buatsi still fighting the great TBA?

Disappointed in Hearn this should be a much better undercard with some 50/50 fights on it.
  • I hope Whyte wins have no clue on main event it is a great fight

The undercard stinks, I'm normally one of those who pays the 15 quid as it's cheaper than going out but I'm not encouraging Hearn anymore. Takam v Chisora will be awful, Webb v Allen. Allen will get knocked out and Hearn is bugging this fight up like I don't know what. Connor Benn, fair one for going back through someone who really beat him but this while event is not pay per view and if Hearn is trying to convince anyone the only way we can see Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker bore out a 12 rounder for Whyte to get a dubious decision then I'm happy to ignore him.

For a fight like this between two nearly men he needs to be making the undercards electric. Fuck his big names, put 50/50 fights on, the fighters are out there
Spot on. The only way to really fight this is to simply not pay the PPV fee and stream it.

Or if you absolutely must watch it, then get a group of mates together so you're only giving him 1 purchase rather than a few.

I don't think this is a group of mates all together type of show. It's pure mileage and tick overs for Hearns stable. Anyone paying for it is giving Hearn the thumbs up to keep putting dross shows like this together

Dillian Whyte lost to Chisora and knocked out a ridiculously out of shape slob of a man who's only hope all night was to land a big hook on Whyte, he was a fat punch bag. Dillian Whyte is entertaining because of the way he behaves but him and Parker will have people fuming they paid for it
  • You can’t look at it for the card imo

It’s 15 quid to watch what I believe will be a good fight potentially very good

    I think that’s vfm

Yes it would be nice to have a great undercard but it’s not the end of the world
  • Me and my mates quite like the undercard... Looking at returns to see it live. It'll be entertaining
  • No way is this a premium fight on what is already a premium subscription channel

I enjoy your opinions and inside info on boxing usually but have to disagree completely here. I already pay 20 odd quid a month for sky sports. PPV was supposed to be one offs and special fights this is not. The more people that buy this the less likely we are to get good match ups in future. When was last time we had a good card or fight on 'free' sky sports?

Saying all that just spent 200 on joshua tickets v povetkin.

Aye, but live... Tickets for £45 I've heard. Home it's stream and not even a question of paying
  • And it's £19.95 (not £15) on Box Office.

Obviously not helped by losing Kell Brook from the original card, but they must know they are pushing their luck with this as PPV.
