NLA as someone who knows boxing well, surely you can see there is literally no value in Fury fighting Sefari. I have the utmost respect for anyone who trains and gets into the ring, but this is such a ridiculous mismatch I fail to see how this helps Fury progress to that next level.
Haye is living proof that after a long lay off you can take a couple of fights against opponents with padded records and look like dynamite, but then when you take that step up reality comes crashing down.
I see this the way I see a pre season friendly against welling. You need to shake off the rust in a way that you can't do in the gym, nothing more, nothing less. Next couple of warm up fights will be better.

I understand this, and reading the boxing forums it looks like I'm in the minority as a lot of people are happy with this.
However I just don't see how this fights helps shake off any ring rust. The bloke is a 5,9 pumped up cruiserweight who has hardly fought anyone with more wins then losses. Also he is not even the best cruiserweight in his family.
I just think there's plenty of other B-Level heavyweight options he could fight, that would at least make it slightly worthwhile his time.
If they make tickets really cheap and this fight free to air then maybe I'll be slightly happier. However you know they're going to sell this as a fight against a tough durable opponent with a high KO%.

This isn't about looking like dynamite in an attempt to improve his ranking. Assuming he stays unbeaten in his warm-up/come back fights then the AJ fight happens irrespective of rankings.
The whole build up, crowd, preparation, motivation for a live fight is something the big man hasn't experienced for a long time. This is more like a man recovering from a bad injury - he needs some crutches (don't I know) and the last thing he would need is the crutch turning around and beating him up!
Anyone who expected a ranked opponent for his first fight back doesn't understand how it works.
One of these days someone is going to get seriously hurt having been lined up as a ring-rust punchbag. Then everyone will be screaming ‘how can the Board of Control have sanctioned it’ post-event.
There’s obviously levels in boxing but it should be the aim of sparring to ensure fighters don’t pick up potentially dangerous complete gimmes.

Totally agree, Fury isn't really a one punch knockout man but he is heavy handed and this guy he's been matched with wouldn't even be brought in for sparring.
One thing I'll say is the British referees are among the best in the world for stopping opponents that have been over matched.

And indeed Fury has been sparring better opponents in training!

Except (under usual circumstances), you are not getting punched by a bigger stronger man and it's not dangerous.
I accept Fury needs an easy come back fight but I do agree that this was a poor choice.
What does a fighter lose the most after a long lay off?
Speed and timing. Therefore there is logic in fighting a smaller elusive fighter, who shouldn't really have the capacity to hurt you too much, first up coming back in order to sharpen both the reflexes and the timing in a proper fight situation.
Once that's back up to an acceptable level then you put in some bigger, harder guys who can bang.
The packet that's thrown across the table mate. And the comments on the video on Twitter looks like they were partying on cocaine
His mate is Lucas Radebe and it was salt It was at mc Donald’s on the corner of Elland road what you don’t see is that there is me his dad and his trainers and IFL plus two other recording crews
If anyone thinks that is cocaine then they are fucking insane
And it was then taken back to the millennium suite at Elland road where it was 1:45 before josh could piss into the pot for his drug test and the BBBOC and the IBF Doctor were with him the whole time
Jamie McDonnell defending his world title today in Japan against 'monster' Inoue
McDonnell has a big height advantage and despite weighing in yesterday at the 118 limit he is now 143lbs!! But they don't call Inoue 'Monster' for nothing.
Inoue was World Champ at Super Flyweight and this is his first fight at Bantam
He's one of those fighters, if you've seen him once, you remember him. Special talent.

Heavyweight boxing will be all the better having him back in the mix.
Obviously i get that Fury needs some warm up fights but this fight is a joke. If it goes 3 rounds then Seferi will be pleased.

then majority of people commenting it's cocaine. He also seems to pocket it.
I'd be surprised if it was
