But there’s something about him now that makes him come across as a bit of a bully. Not sure he would be someone I'd like to have a beer with.
He's very outspoken, he has never held his tongue and I get the impression is very prepared to stand and have a fight anyone who wants to front him up. He was a professional world champion boxer after all and they rarely answer a question with no comment
He is intelligent and articulate and has enough money that he inst reliant on TV companies employing him.

He's also matured recently in his views on Calzaghe, almost (but not quite) conceding that the latter was an extra level above.
Never rated Froch. He never beat anyone particularly good and still comes across as arrogant on tv.
Kessler was good, and the second fight was immense. I also never rated Froch as a boxer, his technique was all wrong, but he made up for that with his heart. All about levels of course and Andre Ward showed him that.

Would recommend listening to the The Boxing Show podcast's 4 episode series on the Froch v Groves rivalry. I always used to think he was a bit of a knob, but he comes across very well in it and there's some really nice insights into how the pair are now close friends.
There's some funny parts as they both look back on some of their promotional tactics with a certain level embarassment.
I think Froch just wants the opportunity to fight JP for a payday, but he wouldn't ever take a dive and he would flatten Paul, so the fight won't ever happen. He's probably not a big enough name for the casual US audience either.
Apparently dubio has offered Jake Paul the chance to fight for the title....
Never heard of him . Is he a YouTuber or Rapper ?
I have diabolical spelling/memory for names, Im sure you know who I meant
I Presume you mean Dubois. Other than money what on earth would he want to fight Jake Paul for - He'd kill him .
Yeah I do, maybe he wants to put a end to the circus but I agree... absolutely pointless
I'd like to see someone put Paul in in his place and put a stop to the circus but even Jake Paul wouldn't be stupid enough to fight Dubois.
After Tyson he doesnt really have many options... its either a bigger name or a better boxer, im guessing McGregor could be the one as he already lost to Tommy !. OR a big youtuber and forget the boxing crowd who have all pretty much had enough after friday.
I can bitterly remember being in a majority of 1 picking George Groves to beat him in their first fight. Thought Groves was all wrong for Carl and he so nearly was, just can't break Carl Froch's spirit and I'm still bitter about the stoppage but whatever.
@superclive98 I can't have you say he never beat anyone good! The man easily had the hardest run of fights I can recall
Among others Jean Pascal, who then went on and cleaned up at light heavyweight Andre Dirrell, capable of giving anyone a bad night in his prime and he was in his prime when Froch fought him Robin Reid & Glenn Johnson both horrible men to fight, Joe Calzaghe never wanted a rematch with Reid Jermaine Taylor, Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler all worthy world champions and the Taylor fight an example of what sheer fuck you determination gets you
Lucian Bute I always thought was a huge job but he was bang on form when Froch fought and absolutely destroyed him and was never the same again, then George Groves and he took a lot put of Groves who I dont think was quite the same fighter again after the 2 Froch fights regardless of how well I think George did in his career in the end
The only dross opponent was Yusef Mack other than that Carl Froch has a CV that stacks up with any super-middlewight of his time.
An avenged very tight split decision loss to Kessler that I thought was a bit of a homer and a loss to the best of the very best in Andre Ward.
What Carl Froch does do is passively put people down, he did it to Amir Khan for years about how he felt he should retire each time Khan got starched the following that up with "I'm concerned for his health, he's had a bad KO, I've never been knocked out" and he is currently doing the same to Joshua which upsets people
I had a massive downer on Carl after the first Groves fight as I thought he was handed one of the stinkiest bits of promoter-approved help from a referee ever and robbed everyone, him possibly included of a proper victory or more likely George Groves of the title

I was always a Groves man from before the Degale fight (the first fight my two sons attended with me) and I've detested Froch from the moment I stormed out of the MEN after the ridiculously premature stoppage against George.

If he's going to fight a youtuber then the only fight that is big enough for him is probably KSI.
Very doubtful he will fight McGregor because he weighs about 40-50 pounds more than Conor.
I genuinely believe he has very little interest in fighting any decent level boxer because he knows he isn't good enough, but he could opt for a rematch with Tommy Fury. Fury isn't very good and would jump at the chance for another huge payday.

You are quite right mate I remember it being a lonely place backing Groves. That was easily the biggest paddy I've ever thrown over boxing injustice

I was at the MEN with a mate, both of us backing Groves, surrounded by northerners who were telling us how Froch was going to wipe the floor with him etc etc. I remember the wall of boos he entered the ring to.
By the end of the fight (the stoppage still pisses me off) everyone around us had been converted to a Groves fan.

Don't know how the fight would have ended, as it was one of the worst stoppages ever but Groves made Froch look ordinary throughout that fight. A dreadful referee and inexperience cost Groves the fight. He was so far ahead he should have coasted to the victory.
Joseph Parker gets another shot at a world title when he fights Daniel Dubois on February 22 in Saudi Arabia for the IBF title.
Hard fight to call that. I'd make Parker the slight favourite going on pedigree, movement and speed. All goes out the window if Dubois catches him early on though.

Agree with most though, bit of a dick now. Would love for him to smash Jake Paul if given the chance!
As I say, loved watching the fighter and some of the wars he was in but a pleb these days.
