  • Cant see that on his Twitter
  • No doubt Fury dominated the majority of the fight but numerically with 2 x 10/8 rounds against him I only had him winning by 1 point. Based on that, I can't be outraged with the draw as a numerical decision. The judge who had Wilder winning though was as corrupt as Adelaide Byrd in the first GGG v Canelo fight

It isn't exclusive to the US though decisions like that, Germany is possibly worse and we are not squeaky by a long shot in the UK. Promoters really pull the strings which logically I understand but in a sport where 2 competitors put themselves through so much and not just in the 36 minutes of a championship fight I find it grotesque. I would take one thing from UFC into championship level boxing and that is giving judges who may end up seeing the blind side tv monitors to enable them not to have to guess.

Of course that depends if the people who are paying them (the home promoter) allow them to do their job without fear of recrimination and not being given another fight
Couldn't agree more re. Germany - Martin Murray got absolutely screwed in that 'draw' with Felix Sturm a few years back!

Perhaps the judges should be appointed and paid by the licensing authority (in this case the California State Athletic Commission) rather than vested interests.

    Just a thought!

I wont forget the Ricky Burns draw with Beltran. Absolutely scandalous.
  • Also thought Paul Smith v Arthur Abraham's first fight was shockingly scored in Germany.
  • Bad decisions, whether through corruption or incompetence, have always dogged boxing. Not just the pro game either - Roy Jones Jnr in his Gold medal bout at the 1988 Olympics is probably the biggest case in point.

    Micky Conlan in Rio too
  • Watched the fight again without sound & tried to be as biased as possible towards Wilder. The best I could come up with in Wilder's favour is 113-113 draw.

The judge that had it 115-111 to Wilder is an absolute disgrace!!

The crazy thing is he still has Wilder the winner without the knock downs.

  • this article, VERY USCentric is worth a read as it shows how the Americans always give the benefit of the doubt to the supposed aggressor .. note how Fury landed mostly 'weak jabs' ((:>)

  • There’s no point ever trying to understand decisions made by judges what needs to happen is a fairer more accountable and then open and honest interviews from them

In boxing where a scorecard like the one on the weekend scored it so insanely to Wilder the judge needs to answer a few questions. If they were seeing the blindside most of the fight as can happen then that is more evidence of screens being needed if they genuinely felt Wilder was landing more punches then they need an eye test and to be reeducated as to what the whole point of boxing is
  • Boxing will always be about opinions and judges will always use that to say unless they have a scoring systems like the ufc where they state in clear points what they can score points for, I think nowadays with the styles and personas judges go on that more than what happens in the actual fight and with a fighters hype

Exactly mate don’t worry we working in the gym on these things, in the new year you’ll see
  • Looks like Joe Joyce will be fighting Luis Ortiz, other than it being one of the slowest fights of all time, thoughts on that? A step up to far for Joyce? I hope he wins but think he might struggle
  • I might be fussy but I don’t rate either of them higher than domestic level anyway

Ortiz is 109 yrs old and Joyce ain’t moved fast in any fight i have watched of his

Unless there is something I'm missing and not seeing that a lot of other people are... I'm not sold at all with Joe Joyce, I think his style is the most unnatural and stiff I've seen in a professional heavyweight especially one being touted for big things.

  • I liked Joyce in the Olympics, he was slow but kept coming at you, like Drednort the robotic knight from the 80s kids show Knightmare
  • Joseph Parker hopes to get his career back on track when he takes on Alexander "The Greatest" Flores in Christchurch on Saturday, December 15th. On the other hand Flores hopes to be the first Mexico-American to win a world heavyweight title.

The 28 year old Flores has a 17 win (15 stoppages) 1 draw and 1 loss record. He lost to Charles Martin in 2014. His promoter is Roy Jones Jnr.

As I've already pointed out on here I think just one watch of Joyce's fight against Usyk in the WBSS should tell you all you need to know as to his lack of movement. He's stepping up to fight Ortiz as he's not got time on his side and needs to fire himself up the rankings quick. I think Ortiz beats him on skill alone.
  • WBC have ordered an immediate rematch between Fury and Wilder.

Nobody will be happier than Eddie Hearn. He can make Joshua v Whyte for April now, without everyone calling for him to fight one of the top 2

I said after the Fury V Wilder fight that Eddie will be the happiest one out there as it will give him an excuse to keep AJ away from them.
  • I'm just waiting for chisora to beat Whyte now...
  • I really don’t get people thinking AJ will be swerving Fury.

It’s true that Fury has great feet and guille for a very big man but I don’t think that he has the punching power that all top HW champions have had.

Sure - it will be a tough fight for AJ but as we saw with an extremely limited Wilder - good feet alone are not enough to keep his opponent away for 12 rounds.

AJ is a much better fighter than Wilder and all I can see is a late AJ stoppage.

I agree Fury needs to sit on his punches more as he seems to lack pop. I disagree with AJ getting to him if they fought. Joshuas footwork is awful and he carries nowhere near as much one punch power as Wilder. He throws great combos but can't see fury getting caught by them IMO
  • I would be more confident in Fury over AJ than I was in Fury over Wilder.
Tyson has never had heavyweight power. Fury can outbox them both, AJ doesn’t have the ko power Wilder does. Joshua needs to land combos. He might catch Fury but not enough imo

    Wide points Fury win
  • Some good boxing on tonight as well. No not the Brook bill... Lomachenko vs Pedraza and Ghana’s/South London’s finest Isaac Dogboe making his second Defence of his World title on Boxnation I believe. NEHO!
