Not another one but not surprising as many have unsubscribed to club emails and those that haven't don't pay much attention to what is being communicated anymore and who can blame them.
Don't you remember the free coaches 'Operation Deep in the Dale, not to mention the Miere' (poetic license) offer to placate the fans thread on here a few weeks back? .
I would be tempted to drop Hendo if we had a stronger keeper on the bench. I rate Pope more highly than some, and I think that between when I saw him in autumn of last year and the beginning of this year he has made big improvements. But I don't think throwing him in now does anyone any favors.
Can't start changing th goalkeeper and putting a kid in goal - it would destroy them. Pope made some horrendous errors, can't have him going back in goal. Bottom line is I doubt it matters who is in goal or who plays anywhere on the pitch. The whole thing is broken beyond repair for the foreseable future.
For the rest of the season I'd play who is more likely to be with us next season, then pick whoever else after that.
It could be counter productive with the players probably staying, after all, who likes getting tonked every week but we need to try and prepare for League 1 next season in the best way possible.
What I think will happen is that we will probably average 3 changes per game and we will continue to get worse and comfortably finish bottom at the end of the season.
Who else is reconsidering the trip on Tuesday?? Half day at work been sorted for a while. Luckily I haven't bought a ticket yet. Expecting another defeat to nil so the only reason to travel is another ground ticked off the 92.
Henderson getting a lot of grief here now. When did he stop being one of the best keepers in the league (including his distribution but troubles around fitness) and now he's said to be shot?

I'm hoping Shrewsbury stay up so I can complete the set next season.

If Vetokele isn't fit to play instead of Lookman, I like this. Prefer to Hebrew Vetokele fit and have Lookman on the bench to come on in second half to shake things up a bit, would like lookman and Vetokele in the pitch at the same time if possible.

I've got all the time in the world for Hendo. He's a goalkeeper not a miracle worker. Occasional mistakes happen but they always look worse when the players in front of you constantly struggle to score at the other end. He seems to care about Charlton and we need to cherish that.
As bad as the situation has been, there's been a few games this year where I've felt with Igor playing we'd have won, Fulham being yet another of them, he just has the urgency to run on to headers and is great at just putting away chances. With him injured I'm absolutely stumped about what team we should play. Can't see many in our squad that I think that can get us a win.
Best and most honourable thing we can do is begin the forfeiting process... start with a few key matches and then by the end of the season be forfeiting every week.
We now have too many players, unfit punts (NOT a misspelling) who probably won't get a start until relegation is a certainty .. Such a shame that Kashi, Bauer & Vetokele have missed so many games through injury. Reminds me of the old cliché about buying a second hand car .. do so and you buy someone else's problems.
What was the point of signing Johnson only to leave him on the bench ? ... he is needed in the middle alongside Tex with Lennon at left back .. Poyet ? .. OUT for good and don't come back, Jackson MUST come back in the middle and where is Cousins ? .. Makienok ? .. an enigma, sometimes good away and rubbish at home .. Harriott ? .. over anxious to please but at least wears the CAFC badge close to his heart .. JBG ? .. soon be gone, drop him now, though I regret having to type this I honestly think whatever the selection for PNE, we will NOT get a result, although the Rotherham performance might indicate otherwise, that looks more and more like the last spurt of flame from the dying embers of a dreadful burnt out season. The management (is this an oxymoron) needs to start preparing for a more vigorous and less salubrious life in the third strata from next springtime.
Henderson .. Solly, Johnson, Teixeira, Lennon .. Ba, Cousins, Jackson, Harriott .. Umerah, Lookman .. let's see what the youngsters, along with a few older heads, can do
Reminds me of a saying that my Dad always says... Buy cheap, buy twice

Makes no sense to me.
The reason why I would consider dropping Hendo is that, by his own admission, his form hasn't been great this season. More importantly than that, he does seem to have a problem coming for corners. I suspect this is a confidence thing, potentially down to bad form, or possibly a residual mental hang up from injuring both shoulders in the space of a year. It's absolutely something that can be coached back in to him, he's just one who has played a lot of games this year coming off the back of serious injuries.
I definitely think he's a good keeper. I wouldn't say he's one of the best in the league simply because the league is chalk full of excellent keepers. I mean even Preston have Anders Lindegaard and Chris Kirkland ffs.
Not knocking whoever stated this thread, I admire your spirit. But Saturday was the final straw I've no interest in how get on Tuesday. I genuinely feel whatever team goes out there will not be up to the task.

I find it quite surprising that Henderson seems to remain the default 'keeper for many. While his shot-stopping is good, his positioning and command of his areas, goal and penalty, have been questionable in recent months, and his distribution is simply poor. Pope did well at Colchester, saved us from even more of a tonking... Just sayin'...

I still get club emails, but in my webmail they don't render at all. All I get is a grey stripe and no other content. I get a lot of email, but Charlton are unique in sending me emails I can't open, so they are all immediately deleted. Maybe one day they'll change/update their mass mail software, but until then their emails are completely useless.
